I found a Fish-Filled Lake in Somerset - What will be swimming in the Dark Waters??

- Graeme heads to Somerset where I found a fish-filled lake. He tries his first attempt at a small pool he finds deep in Somerset. Called "Lovelynch Lake" it's only small, but has been renovated after some 19 years of little or no fishing by Mike Oxman. Yet little is known what is swimming around in its waters. He changes tactics constantly, from floatfishing to legering, swimfeeders to link leger and surface fishing. With no knowledge of where to fish he opts for a swim around the centre of the fishery and gradually he starts to get some rod bending action on different species. It's old school fishing, in peaceful surroundings of the Somerset countryside, sheltered by some trees and bushes so something of a "secret surprise"...Enjoy...It's Totally Awesome time again.
Filmed at Lovelynch Lake. Email oxmanandwalker@hotmail.co.uk if you would like to fish here 🎣

If this is the lake at Lovelynch Farm/House, just the Wellington side of Milverton, then it used to be a really popular local fishing venue with loads of carp and near guaranteed 'catching action' for anglers. Nearby were Mr Hendy's lakes near Langford Budville, one of which stocked some really lovely carp. That venue also closed for some years now. However, Ridge Fishery at nearby Bathealton is open to fish - two small lakes of carp and other species. Good to hear that Lovelynch is once more open.
It's days like that when you just don't want to pack away.
Great little pond Graeme, pleasure fishing at its finest....👍
thanks Graeme 🐟
Lovely fish in that lake. Nice and peaceful place to fish.
Lovely setting.Beautiful Tench.
Looks like another beautiful day of fishing. Thanks for your channel, really enjoy watching it.

I found a fish fillet late in Somerset, ups i nead my glasses 😉 keep up the good work🎣🐟 👍
Thats a lovely place, and those fish, well they, have colour, power and in perfect condition, very enjoyable video mate, have a great weekend, was going on the Thames today, mind said yes, body said no, so tomorrow we are off, lets try and catch a barble lol.
Nice one G Man
Hi Graeme reckon some of those carp are wildies long and slim not many waters have them now think you have found a little gem there tight lines and best wishes Paul rivers
Friday night sorted 👌 nice one pal 🎣
Wish I had your energy Graeme 👍🥃
I remember in the 1970s going out on a wet night with a torch and being able to collect large numbers of lobworms from the lawn. There would be hundreds of them partially emerged from their holes. I’m not seeing them now. What has happened to them? Is it pesticides? Whatever it is hasn’t affected slugs and snails to the same extent.
👍👍👍
"The kettle is 11 years old" It looks every minute of it.
good vid on channe out fish keep up the cool fish vids you do
Happy Friday✌
Havent watched film yet but thought id say i did buy a massive bag of baileys and massive bag of bran and honestky such a good purchase no wonder you always catch best ground bait ive used on river makes such a good cloud. Had a 24" tench (middle of afternoon as always) and biggest bream ive ever caught.
Glad to hear it helped..I was using it a few days ago on Tench and Rudd.
@@TAFishing how much bran do you mix in roughly is it 50/50?
Thank you Graeme
Very organized beautiful little place ,would love to float fish there.
Nice and quiet and now manicured and tidy thanks to Mie's hard work.
So this from a taunton lad, first place I ever caught a carp and used to go every weekend with my father, now just the other day we seen an advertisement for lovelynch and I need to go back as its a cracking little pound or we it was
Hi, would you know of contact details for Lovelynch please as the email address remains unanswered. I’m in N.Abbot and intrigued by the place. Cheers
Good stuff as ever Graeme, TA has been my EastEnders for just over a decade and I've had a question that has been lingering for most of that time, so I'll ask. For years We've heard, sometimes angrily other times very funnily but most always with the blame for things going wrong , The name of Smith. So who is Smith Graeme ?, and what did this idiomatic character do to you , that causes you to consistently curse his name decades later ?. I always enjoy him popping up in the narrative and I absolutely love how those maddening mishaps and frustrating kerfuffle's are plain and simply his responsibility. 🤣I am however Graeme always left wondering who this criminally negligent 😜longstanding , character of the channel really is?. Be lucky Graeme and may the freshwater God's bless you with a whopper.
How can I get rid of line twist please
Such a pretty, peaceful venue and a decent catch. I like a spot of schoolboy fishing, so a few rudd would suit me. I did notice you had the landing net on the wrong side.
Have the landing net on any side doesn't mean he did something wrong.
You were right..I think Smith moved it..Should always be on the left, but tilted towards the water...I did it the other day down there and caught within minutes.
If you come to somerset often I know of a farmer that has 3 ponds. All have carp in but 1 has nice doubles an go up to 26lb. Old carp to. Not these big gut jobs.
Would be nice to catch a "normal" sized old time Carp I have to say. PM mike on TA Outdoors I am sure to be down in Somerset again as I was coming up from Devon yesterday.
I feel like a idiot but I’m a Aussie so here it goes. Can you eat carp and the other fish that you were catching??? Thanks Graeme from another Graham oh by the way I love your videos
Monk's in UK years ago, cross bred mirror carp to have less scales. Easier to clean and eat. But he's fishing a muddy hole....👍
I'm surprised we don't have a bigger catfish population you know we have perfect waters for catfish in the Uk although there probably not deep enough for them is maybe why
They thrive in most water conditions, the issue is that they will decimate smaller fish populations. Most fisheries don't want them.
I hope Mike is doing ok after watching his vid, so scary this E-coli outbreak :(
He is now off the I.V.drip and onto mega tabs...was with the family this morning at the toddlers Sportsday....(I never came anywhere, they were all too fast ...)
@@TAFishinglol you do make me giggle Graham I’m glad Mike is hopefully on the mend 🙏
Hi Graham, is the email address correct for Lovelynch? As I’m not getting a reply for information to fish there.
i think there is a contact in the film description at the top.
I hope you found that new chair?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its an original old Landrover one apparentrly, given to Mike by a Landrover enthusiast. Its not heavy so it looks like being the "new" chair.
@@TAFishing Nice. It will be nearly as collectable as you are.🙂
Ehlow! Hope youre freezing fish! 🚫 A total travesty to do so! Free stockpile! Youre like jesus the fisher of men! Hope all is well! Dont let them cut the fruit and nut trees! Start some sablings, hide em if you have to out to the family compound. 😉 Youre all in our prayers even that lovely Amber & her handy human Dusty! I think youre all lovely 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹✝️🙏🕊️🕯️✌️😎👍
I think I'll have a pint of the same ...!!!
19 years unfished, carp average 3 to 5, worn in swims with hardly weathered peg markers... ? Come on chap... have a word
Mike has mowed and cleared all the swims and put the swims in. It was overgrown prior to that.
Listen to the start of the video, "Until last year it hadn't been fished." He never said he was the first person after 19 years. Obviously opened last year hence why it's worn in .
Some body didn't listen to the start of the video 😕
Jealous much?
Oh for christ sake Gareth
Cheers Graeme, have a good weekend 🍺
Weather just on the change, might get out for something, but not sure yet.Might even dive down the coast for a bit of beach fishing.
