    Hi Ben. Im a 67 year old New Zealand guy and I like to play poker. I am retired and would love to enrol at your site but as I am fiscally restricted I am limited to watching your free content you deliver the last few years. Thank you for that sir, you have succeeded in making it harder to take my chips due to me watching nearly every vid you have presented to You Tube. Once again, thank you and GG for WSOP and Online equivelants.

    yeah I messed up the action in the first hand.
    However, we can apply the logic for this situation BB vs UTG (still lots to learn).
    This spot was actually BVB and we can either go for xR flop or xC flop and lead turn, both are fine options with our hand.
    Check/Call Check/call is a bad option with a 7 high draw.
    River is as played a cooler.
    However, with 99 and being dead against almost everything I don't like the Turn call either.

    • @HJEAOOFNONAOEK

      So on the turn opponent should fold 75% of range against a 33% pot lead because they are dead against trips? I'm sorry but what are you talking about? You could just admit that you were completely wrong, admit that your rant about the opponent was embarrassing and apologize for it

    You provided very good points. Did you realized that in the first hand you did not check raise the flop, but only check called to then donk bet on the turn? Even if you had check raised on the flop, the turn bet is not a good choice imo and the sizing is also quite off.

    • @tommas5215

      Not sure he knows what he is doing in general.Specially in the first hand he was pretty clear that he had a 5 or flush draw with the line he took(mostly flush draws). The guy makes a standard call on the turn as he is never up aginst an A (what Ben doesnt understand apparently) and obviusly not a Q,and then calls him a fish when he actually played the hand really well .

  • @HJEAOOFNONAOEK
    @HJEAOOFNONAOEK Před 4 měsíci +8

    The first hand doesn't really look like you're playing from the big blind, no? If there's no SB then how is the pot 7bb on the flop, villain probably didn't open 3x? Isn't this blind v blind, limp-call preflop against 3bb iso? Also, you didn't raise the flop, you called and then donked the turn. And if this indeed is BvB, then the guy is obviously never supposed to fold 99 on the turn even against a 50% pot lead, not even close.

      I agree, Idk what he is smoking but he definitely called the flop then donked the turn. Then vs. b33 donk you would never fold 99s especially when you dont have the 9 of spades, because then you will have even greater implied odds when the 9 of spades comes like it does here, and you unblock basically all potential bluffs.

    There is some kind of "new trend" that I saw in some hands but maybe is not the case for the first one...
    Thing is, you said he needs an A to call you on the turn, but if you have a 5 and an A comes along in the river, he has no implied against your hand, also if you made the flush and the A paired he has no implied. But is not the case for those PP like 99, now when you have the 5 or you make the flush and the 9 comes along, he get maximum value.
    Maybe this is not the spot to aply that idea. But maybe his call is not AS BAD as it seems on the turn.
    Great video! first hand is really intresting in how to play all our FD.

    • @terrellhemphill3672
      @terrellhemphill3672 Před 4 měsíci +1

      I see where you're coming from, but the value of implied odds for villain's hand goes down significantly with only 1 card to come. Yes when he boats and we make a flush we go broke, but that is a 4% or less going into the river, which is what makes his turn call not great. Us raising and barrelling is meant to captilaize on fold equity (putting TP top hands in a bad on river) rather than implied odds after making a flush.

      While UTG has a big equity advantage, BB has 5% trips which have a ton of UTG's range drawing nearly dead. UTG isn't super incentivized to bet this flop because of this.
      On these low paired boards where the opener has no board coverage of trips BB can even begin donking some. On this runout top pair isnt even worth all that much given the action from BB. More than half their range will be trips or a flush. UTG will be bluff catching with a ton of top pairs.

  • @gradusadparnassum8278
    @gradusadparnassum8278 Před 4 měsíci +1

    I put a like on the video because I love seeing your stuff but it had let me very confusing... You call it how not play like a fish and the first hand it didn't seem really well played so I don't get if it's an example to follow or not. The last one was good because you improved your whole limp-call range on the river not just your flush draw. So that's all, it's like I got no really information on how a gto or pro player should play a flush draw. The first hand is something you see the fish doing at low stakes or 0.25€ tournaments

    Watched the first hand: talks about us wanting to do a lot of raising on the flop, but proceeds with c/c, then donks the turn when Q does very little for your range. Overbet jams river when flush completes and you will fold out most weaker hands given this line.
