  • Draining the fluid out of the transmission pan and also installing a new transmission filter. I purchased the Duralast Transmission Filter , which came with the transmission pan gasket, at autozone for $19 and the 1gallon Valvoline Maxlife ATF for $27. Any questions comment

    I'm trying to figure out what dude was telling me at the dealership. I gotta change my transmission oil pan since he said the "bolt" is paper thin and leaking very slowly. He told me not to get service done with my transmission fluid bc if someone was to touch it, it would break off? Not sure if he's talking about the drain plug? is that connected to the pan? I'm just wondering why can't I just replace the "bolt". I have the SAME car. For as long as I had the car, I haven't done anything with the transmission fluid. I didn't think I would hold on to the car this long, but I heard people telling me it's better to leave it alone if you never did anything with the transmission since it can cause slippage.

    • @Gm29_mtz
      @Gm29_mtz  Před 2 lety

      If I was you I’d buy the transmission pan that also includes the gasket and filter because it’s not expensive but getting it installed may cost depends on the mechanic, and also replacing just the bolt may not fix the problem as it could be the gasket that has rotten over time

      I changed my fluid 2012 g37 sedan shop said they couldn’t service the filter though. So I just changed fluid first time at 87k I’m at 95k now running and shifts amazing . I don’t think changing this filter matters most cars don’t even have a trans filter let alone one you can replace
