I knew this game was going to be awesome but I didn't expect EVERY song to be so amazing. Like the Scott Pilgrim game, I can just put this on a loop and be so happy while I work! Such an amazing job!
This soundtrack entrances you when you play the game. A serene, focused groove. None of the Kunio-kun games or any beat-em up I know of use synth pop, but it worked tremendously well. It's definitely up there with the Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle OSTs. Megan McDuffee is an extremely talented composer.
Fell in love with "Watch Your Back"... so many memories and nostalgia for the RCR game from NES growing up... this song is going to be the iconic represenation of RCG now for me! Love it.
Some of these tracks gave me Crypt of the Necrodancer vibes. I was half expecting to hear the shopkeeper belting out some lyrics as I approached a store.

Lol. I've been playing this game regularly for 3 years. Got in love with Megan McDufee vocal tracks (especially Bully). Got her vinyl for "Inner Demons" (got check it out it's awesome). And it's only today that I realize that she is not only the woman who made fitting emotional songs on a 16-bits inspired games, but also the same composer who made incredibly uplifting 80-inspired songs such as "Tidal Wave". Geez girl, you just decided to revolutionize Beat Them Up music on your own.

Megan McDuffee - Composer music in the background definitely sets the mood for a lot of people to want to come back. I’m no professional by any means and you’re doing a great job! I have noticed how a lot of the music industry can be good or bad and why people like Lil’ Wayne can get popular. Lol. Music in the background of his music is decent sounding despite him sounding off. But you sound good though so no worries there.

I feel like RCG has better combat mechanics, moves, and combos and the characters feel more focused, but Scott Pilgrim has more enemy variety, better weapons, and waaaaay better boss fights. I gotta give it to SP. Both soundtracks bop tho.
My love for this game started with the OST. For some reason, Every song just hit home. Maybe, it was from me not thinking that this game was just an beat them up but man it was more than that. Truly an outstanding game and OST.

Thank goodness for the algorithm that brought me here. I didn't know River City Ransom had a sequel?! Technos made the first one, or was it Irem? This thunderous opus is just what I didn't know I needed, and I have listened to it over and over.
Oh god, I just recognized that Fancy Fight is a remix of that one theme that plays while you're fighting those girls at Sabu's Villa in Shin Nekketsu Kunio no baka!
Same! Thankfully I completed the basic ending (that has the shit joke you wont understand unless you know this series more than this game) so I had to look up the true/secret ending since the game trial ended lol.

Misuzu: One of the bosses in previous Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun games. She is voiced by Laila Berzins. She is the game's first boss.
Taiki Yamada: The final boss of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari. Voiced by Griffin Puatu in the game. He acts as the second boss of the game.
Hibari: New character voiced by Mary Josephine Hanson. She is the game's third boss, a fashion designer in Uptown with the most popular clothes.
Nozomi/Noize: New character. Voiced by Erika Harlacher.
Sabuko: New character voiced by Xanthe Huynh. Sabu's daughter, who is leading the Sanwakai in his absence. Unlike Sabu, who uses a firearm, Sabuko is a martial artist who fights using a katana and elemental ki attacks.
Hasebe & Mami: Kunio's childhood friend and Yamada's girlfriend along with Riki's girlfriend. Both characters debuted in Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari. They are voiced by Cristina Valenzuela and Sarah Williams, respectively.

What i like about this game is the Beat them up first ask questions later attitude.
All these songs are great but "Watch Your Back" somehow stands apart and above the rest which is saying a lot as this WHOLE DAMN OST is friggin god tier.

Megan McDuffee - Composer music in the background definitely sets the mood for a lot of people to want to come back. I’m no professional by any means and you’re doing a great job! I have noticed how a lot of the music industry can be good or bad and why people like Lil’ Wayne can get popular. Lol. Music in the background of his music is decent sounding despite him sounding off. But you sound good though so no worries there.

River city girls Vs team Scott Pilgrim
Level 1 vs level 1 = RCG has parry
Level 99 vs level 99= idk honestly...
I feel like RCG has better combat mechanics, moves, and combos and the characters feel more focused, but Scott Pilgrim has more enemy variety, better weapons, and waaaaay better boss fights. I gotta give it to SP. Both soundtracks bop tho.

My love for this game started with the OST. For some reason, Every song just hit home. Maybe, it was from me not thinking that this game was just an beat them up but man it was more than that. Truly an outstanding game and OST.
