Kaleigha Womble - I agree with Katherine and Bonnie but Elena Gilbert? No, just no. That self-absorbed bitch does not even come close to my babes Katherine/Bonnie/Caroline/Rebekah. Especially not Katherine, Elena does not even come within sniffing distance of the queen Katherine. Katerina Petrova is a survivor, a superb killer whose wit, skill and calculating mind far outdoes everyone else on the show -you can hate her all you want but you can't deny that the woman is actually brilliant. Whereas Miss Elena could not survive two weeks on her lonesome without everyone fawning all over her. And lets not forget the amount of sacrifices Bonnie has made for Elena, she's even killed herself just so Elena could have her brother. Two seasons earlier Bonnie lost her grandma and had her mother being turned into a vampire.
Katherine never, not once, turned off her humanity nor has Bonnie ran away from her problem - no, they dealt with it.
They have both been through a lot and Katherine has been through worser stuff but both still came out fighting out the other end.
And you seriously think Elena can compare with them?

nadya samuda I do, She admitted it to Elena (who did turn off her humanity) while she was torturing her. Katherine admitted that she had done some very terrible things to survive in her life and we all know about the terrible things that she herself had endured even before she was a vampire but she also said that she never turned it off. She dealt with it - we can guess that it was probably in a vampire-like way of dealing with things but she still dealt with them.
And that makes more sense than her turning off her humanity. The pain of everything that she had endured both from Klaus and the Originals and even her own family (her father took her baby away and never let her hold once, not once, and then exiled her from Bulgaria) is probably what fired her drive for survival for the five centuries and also the determination to keep moving and never looking back. Besides, If she had turned off her humanity then where would that drive and determination have stemmed from? Hmm? Those survival traits are drawn and born from emotions, darling. Real emotions.
Just because she acts as though she has turned off her humanity - because if you look at her closely, and i mean REALLY looked at her, that girl has got a lot of feelings running around inside her and whether they are bad or good emotions are up for debate but they are emotions. they are feelings. She's got her humanity switched on, darling. She always has.
