This was a fantastic video. Just as Squirrel Stapler is a compact experience, this video is an intellectual morsel. I think tying everything together with the Seneca quote was a great idea. Your narration was great, with your dry humor perfectly complementing the macabre horror of Squirrel Stapler. Outstanding job on this video.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
I have been LOVING the resurgence of Subtle Horror lately, especially with Szymanski's work. Just replayed Iron Lung yesterday for another video, and it slaps for that subtle reason, too. Your bit on the observer's descent into madness reminded me a lot of Spec Ops: The Line's loading screens, gradually becoming more unnerving as you progressed in the game. Subtlety absolutely has its place in the horror genre; I truly appreciate when they craft a slow burn with one, magnificent jolt at the end. And maybe it is more effective that it makes us suffer more in our imaginations, like you noted.
King video, Noah! 💖Great work!
Oh yeah, I need to play Iron Lung. Have it, just played this one instead lol. And thanks dude, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
The weird sound in the forest is pretty close to an elk mating call. I'm not a fan of them either
I didn't know what to expect from a game called Squirrel Stappler but those are some impressive bits of horror, especially with that music near the end.
Way to go dude!
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it! It's worth a play if you're interested
Thank you I love this!!! I wanted to find a video explaining the lore, this one's great!!!
Ahah, yeah just watching gameplay with a calm voice explaining what's happening and I was very unsettled.
There is something about low poly and sprites that is so much more effective than realistic graphics.
Amazing vid!!
The horse sound is just a deer. Its a normal call
5:55 I think this is an elk bugle
