I have a Gen 3. What makes a Viper feel so nuts is the torque. When you have 470 lb-ft in a gen 1 or 525 lb-ft in a gen 3 and it is flat in the lower rpm range, it means the car is making close to 300 HP at 3,000 rpm. Most people are used to a peaky HP up near redline and aren’t ready for the car to take off and pull at any rpm.
The open headers generate so much noise it actually creates more intensity when accelerating. I know my 95 viper totally catches ppl off guard when I hammer it. The sound makes it appear like a 1000 hp. Ppl don’t even try to race which is totally fine with me considering how much disadvantage the 1st gen has with no safety features.
I’m surprised how well your mics picked up the exhaust in the audio, actually sounds good. Haha Thanks again man
Awesome man and Thank you for your service. Retired Marine here looking at a 1995 Viper right now :)
Thanks for giving this Dodge Viper such a honest and engaging video review 👍🏻 Glad I found this channel just subscribed
Wow thanks for the comment and subscribing! I’m glad you liked the video!
what a sound... awesome! I gotta drive one someday...
I'm gonna rewatch this and take a shot everything one of you say RAW. I have a feeling I'm going to work hung over ❤😂
😂what can I saw I love it raw
I started to catch on with the “it’s.. it’s so raw” or its “it’s still raw” haha
Haha I was mostly speechless that’s all I could come up with! 😂
Very cool. I would love to add a Viper to the stable some day to keep my Hellcat company. The Hellcat is cool, fun, etc but traction is a major issue. Having the Viper would provide a very different experience.
7:50 It sounds like a fucking World War II fighter flying by. That is INCREDIBLE. Wow!
I’ve never been in a WWII fighter, but I would imagine it sounds and feels like that 😂
Nice nice sound, very nice.
Glad you like it!
Yooo Nate!! Is that you??/ You gained a lotta weight plus stache! LOL You bought your Viper back when I had bought my Corvette. I'm still working on getting one. I gotta make that trip this summer to come out to see ya man.
That is him!
I have one of these too and also use it for its intended purpose. Mine is completely stock-does this one have an exhaust kit? It sounds fantastic
He has it as straight headers only and no exhaust right now. It sounded just as fantastic in person. It would probably be too much on most cars, but for a viper you expect it to sound insane!!!
❤toyota Corolla GR❤
Cars today are so sterile and boring. Full of tablets, electronic nannies, and not a manual transmission in sight. Give me $100k, and I will buy a 1st or 2nd gen Viper this over a C8 100x out of 100
I agree with you! Not sure if you watched my C8 Z06 episode or not, but I’d still be up for one of those too haha
