I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 210,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.

I have to say the new Rogue is the best looking compact suv out there. I know some will disagree but compared to the cr-v, rav 4, equnox and many other compact suv, it looks more luxurious. Rav 4 looks nice outside but the interior look so cheap compared to rogue

Those who own Nissans have been forced to pay anywhere from $3,500 to $8,000 on average to fix Nissan CVT transmission problems. This has, in turn, forced Nissan to extend the warranties on many of their cars from five years or 60,000 miles to 10 years or 120,000 miles.

The X-tronic CVT is a joint manufacturing process between Nissan and their subsidiary JATCO (Japanese Auto Trans Company). Now do a search for JATCO cvt problems and reliability. And you will had numerous sites appear showing that the JATCO CVT has the worse reputation for any CVT in decades. That's why Toyota, Honda, Subaru all manufacture their own CVTs (other than Fuji actually produces the Subaru CVT for many years, but Fuji and Subaru are technically one in the same.)
Will all JATCO cvts fail? NOPE. But you have a heck of a lot higher percentage of JATCO cvts fail than any other CVT in the past decade or maybe two.
It's a shame since other components used on Nissan vehicles are great, their design is fantastic in most areas (subjective...yes).
If it was not for the JATCO cvt, I most likely would be driving a Nissan.

Great review and information. Interesting that the front turn signals are not LED at the SL level. Hope it can be considered a premium option and not only in the Platinum.

Hello My name is Darlington, I just bought the Nissan Rouge 2021 3 months ago, I just took it for the first oil change, and now Dashboard light does not illuminate as normal. It is always Blue or exhibits faint pictures. Please direct me on what to do. Thanks.

22:10 I HATE when manufacturers do this, give you an ocean of blank buttons on lower trims. Makes it so obvious all the stuff its missing, which I guess is the point.

Great review but you should have your right hand looked at by a doc.
Pockets on the back of the seats a-la airplane style are useless and take up space.

Mike... When doing a SIDE VIEW to SIDEVIEW comparison..This looks like a COPY & PASTE of the New Rav4.. only the Nissan Wheel Arches are round...and there's chrome below the door.... I guess it works...but the transmission after 2 years ownership is where the real concerns kick in.. Also if there's an electrical glitch with the infotainment/ AC is this one off..or is it a Glitch in the Matrix about to open up.
