Here's some more post rock reacting. The choir, and the guitars are great, the piano...gosh, it's all good. What do you think of it?

Thank you so much for taking my request! It's a really beautiful song. If you like this song then I think you would like the rest of the album. If you want to check it out some more I recommend listening to The Last Dive of David Shaw

Such a great album. The album is called 'departure songs' and each song is about different people who did extraordinary things because of their love of humanity and those around them. In most cases dying in the process (only one song on this album is about a group of people who didn't die and that was them just being lucky. They dove into the submerged tunnels beneath the chernobyl nuclear power plant in order to drain a pool of water that would cause an enormous steam explosion should the meltdown reach it, and they did this fully expecting to die in the process).
This particular song is called 'A gallant Gentlemen' and is about Captain Lawrence Oates, an artic explorer. He was a part of the doomed Terra Nova expedition to the south pole in which all 5 members died. By the time the team were half way back, one member was already dead and the rest of the team were exhausted and suffering from frostbite. Oates was the worst off and his condition was slowing the team down. He wanted to be left behind to die but they refused. The next day, he told the team "I am just going outside and may be some time." before leaving the tent and walking into the blizzard. The rest of the team died but their journals were recovered by the rescue team. They couldn't find Oates' body so they erected a cairn and cross were they believed he died. The cross stated "Hereabouts died a very gallant gentleman, Captain L. E. G. Oates, of the Inniskilling Dragoons. In March 1912, returning from the Pole, he walked willingly to his death in a blizzard, to try and save his comrades, beset by hardships.".

    Very good one!
The whole album is very emotional since every track is about people who died.
An interesting yet tearjerking concept album!

yes, worth exploring further. A challenging topic but we never want to forget anyone who was on Earth at some point.

Hey man, it's super cool that you're in the comments on videos like this. Just wanted to say that I found your band's music when I was at a very dark place in my life, stuck in a deep depression. Whenever I was having a particularly tough time I knew I could put on your music and just cry. Somehow that made me feel like I would end up okay. I'm doing a lot better now, but this album will always hold a special place in my heart. Keep on doing your thing. Cheers

Maybe the most emotionally intense album I’ve ever heard. Knowing the stories makes it as though the music is a soundtrack to the tragedy as it happens. And each somehow ends with release and peace

I randomly came across this song on Spotify. I’ll love it forever., if this is the last song I ever hear, that would be okay❤

Wonderful! Great music for a gloomy rainy day. Feels like a film score. Reminds me of the awesome Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (1983) by Ryuichi Sakamoto.

RIP Lawrence Oates (1880-1912) and RIP to Chris Tropy, their lead singer who sadly took his life in 2013.

@progdogchannel is definitely a good reason to listen in chronological order. You can take the lyrics like the music... it's whatever you want it to be.... as long as it's epic.

You gotta do a video on their newer work, from Triumph And Disaster. A very very overlooked piece of their work since it's this song in particular that blew up, but in my opinion Triumph and Disaster has some of their best, The Last Sun in particular is insane.

Amazing band, Amazing concept, Amazing album. If you want to tackle another "emotional" concept album check out "Hospice" by The Antlers
