I do LOVE their colors. They're absolutely beautiful too. I own a good amount of the tubes and the 1/2 pans and they won't let you down, that's for sure!

I use Renesans paints a lot. They are gorgeous paints! Any paint that uses honey as a binder will separate especially in extreme temperatures. I always mix them before I ever open them. There is no way of knowing how long they've sat in a store or warehouse before being shipped. I've even had issues with M. Graham when they've sat a long time. One of the most interesting issues I had with honey-based paints is that where I live it is very hot (Florida, USA) and even the White Nights paints in pans separate. Whenever I first open the palette, there are little beads of honey oozing to the top! Sending you lots of healing prayers and looking forward to seeing you back.

I’m sorry you encountered issues with the binder. I had the same thing happen with a 30ml tube of Raw Sienna from WN and assumed it was due to the size. I normally purchase 15ml. Please do what you need to to take care of any medical needs and we will all be here for part deux. Sending love ❤, ~Mo
We are Lucky to have an etsy seller that carries Renesans here in the USA, I have bought both tubes & pans, I had no problems but I had different colors, now I just got the Golden QOR colors & had that happen to them. interesting....But I love Daniel Smith the most. & I love your swatching videos very very helpful.

They look like very nice colours. I never tried Renesans Paint before, but I might do it now 😊 Concerning the binder issue: I don't think it's a sign of bad quality. It depends on the pigments. I had the same issue with my Schmincke PG7. You just need a toothpick or a slim knitting needle to mix the paint in the tube and they are perfect again.
Thanks so much for this, you showed some colours I was intrigued by. I had the same issue with binder separation in my Renesans tubes, and thought it was a problem with my tubes. I ended up squeezing all the tubes into full and half pans, as it got quite annoying to deal with binder excess every time I opened a tube. I got around 2 full pans and 2 half pans per tube. First I squeezed the whole content into a small container, mixed it up well and then filled the pans, with binder well mixed with pigment. Once dry, they rewet beautifully.

Watching this again I am struck again the clarity of these paints. If you did decide to try their half pans I would be very interested in seeing a video on that!
I do have these paints. They are available open stock at my local art shop so I collect them. Yes, the binder issue is present as is with the old Maimeri Blu tubes. I don't mind because I liek to pour them into pans, but don't make the mistake of pouring them in your travel palette. They never dry. Luckily I only refilled one color (Indian yellow) and it did not contaminate my other colors. All inall, if I only had to choose one brand, I would probably go for Winsor and Newton or Schmincke (I live in Europe), but since I don't have to make that choice, I like to slowly collect all the colors from all the brands.
I use R.I. a lot. I had the binder issue, but now I put the paint in large pans and mix it well with a needle... problem solved! I love the colors of this brand a lot.
I have pans and tubes. I also had quite a bit of binder separation. I put the lid back on a vigorous shook it. I always use paint dried in pans and they took a very long time to dry due to the honey. They also dried very shiny. I bought open stock 1/2 pans and was gifted a 24 pan set about a year later and some of the colors are different from pan to pan which concerns me. I don’t know what I’m going to get when I go to replace a color. One color I would not recommend is the potters pink. It can be a weak color anyway but theirs is terrible. Overall, I like these paints. I used mine regularly for about a year and I do have a few colors in my travel pallet but rarely reach for them at home. I have others I prefer.
I tried these when they first came out. They are nice...but my Schmincke and Daniel Smith paints are nicer. Thank you so much for the lovely swatching, though...you could swatch $1 children's paints and I would enjoy the video just as much!

I came to the same conclusion…binder issues with some tubes. Also, since I’m in a very humid climate, these don’t dry well in a pan for me. Have a similar problem with M. Graham. Both have honey in them. Best to buy half pans…😢
I purchased the 24 pan set, and have enjoyed them. I ordered two tubes, one being Potter’s Pink, and Indian Yellow, which I threw away. The Potter’s Pink was weak and shiny, and the Indian Yellow was terrible also when I tried swatching it. So, the brand hasn’t made the best impression with the tubes. I hope your experience is better.
I have a lot of the tubes and a pan set purchased through Etsy in US. I love the paint but was disappointed that many of the 1/2 paint were only half full…..so 1/4 pan. Won’t buy pans again.

Can't get Renesans here in Canada so no experience. Sad this happened because you were so excited. The top 4 were so nice and promising.
