I used to have one of these FJ40 back in the '80s-'90s and loved it.. it was grey with a fibreglass white roof and had a straight 6 petrol motor and the places I didn't take it wasn't worth talking about... It also had a PTO driven front winch.
These are great toys and the real ones I imagine as just as good! HAHAHHA

I designed and 3D printed a simple plate with lower mounting points for the four link suspension. Holly cow! It’s now amazing. Just looks way better now too through the articulation.
That is awesome! I am sure it is a massive improvement.
Those instructions are hilarious! It's like the author was high or drunk when writing it, but with a great sense of humor.

I liked the rear bumper mod you made. When I assembled my axles is a little bit stiff and has a little clicking sound...put alot of grease but this a bit stiff for my liking...hopefully when its run-in it will be better.
I used a cordless drill to " run in " my axles then re lubricated everything , made a world of difference
Yeah I felt the same way. I think they will break in.

I kinda want to put the on off switch on the floor of the interior in front of the passenger seat or something. I love how you painted the trim btw. I saw someone on Instagram modify his FMS FJ Cruiser by putting the ESC in the trunk to make room for a bigger battery in front. To hide it he blacked out the rear window but I was thinking it would be cooler to fabricate a scale beer crate out of wood
That is a good call! I would say thought that the battery lasts at least an hour as it. It's impressive that they can do that!

I am pretty sure I saw a post by Edward Chew of the Wpl owner group ages ago before it was released with him in the back of a car doing the English translation of the manual.
That makes a lot of sense now.

Building the wpl hi-lux at the moment. It's tiny but great, the instructions are a bit small.

Nice but some parts look a Little 'iffy'. I can see the axles being a problem.
They seem to be a little stiff but my other cars have lots of care free miles so I think they break in.
My axle encasements wouldn't fit right together without drilling the paint out of the nib alignment holes.
What a very creative way of writing an instruction manual. And I was wondering why they use a japanese "good luck" instead of chinese.
I know that was odd.

I would say 1/12 for sure. It is not 1/16 like they claim.

i just assembled the c34.order 15099
I have a lot of problems with c34. quality department is doing a terrible job.
tyres are wobbly terrible, wheels does not fit to a 5 milimetre drive shafts, Once i put them on i have to almost destroy them to take them off. just terrible.
Steering linkage came updated but assembly instructions are wrong, old. thats just basic mistake.
Input gear shafts are bent and because of that drive shaft cups are wobbling.
front axle is not working properly. i managed to brake in the rear one according to instructions but the front is not possible. front input gear does not mash with differential gear at all.
I don see how can all that be fixed, so i would like to return the product and them to return the money to me...
5mm hex are not 5 mm. and are bent already.
is this normal? no wonder wheels dont fit.hex should be 5mm and wheels 5.07mm.they should know that.
How can they sell a faulty product?

So did you get it from the WPL site? I have about a dozen of these are they are not perfect, but now how you describe. Usually their customer service is excellent, this is very odd. I am wondering if this was old stock as some of their early cars (from about 5 years ago) being shocking. I would reach out again and I hope that works! Ill reach out to my contact there with your name.

Hi. Just came across your channel and have subscribed. I was wondering if you could provide any more info on the Toyota grill badge and mesh. I'm in the process of scratch building (no 3D printer) a later model grill bezel (rectangular rather than rounded) and the 3D emblem and real mesh grill would look great.

Did you ever figure out why it dips when turning? Mine does the same thing, very annoying....
It is the steering linkage. I lengthened mine and adjusted the throw of the servo. It is better but not perfect.
What happened to the follow up video for this? Would really like to see how it finally looked and drove.

Oh nice! Ill have to look. The thing is this is closer to 1/12-1/13. The chassis is from the 1/16 Hilux but they seemed to enlarge this shell to fit the chassis.

They are vero black. This is a polyjet print resin similar to poly carbonate.

I'm having problems with the front axle, everything feels free without wheels on but with wheels on it'll 'catch' momenterally stopping it rotating, then it's free again, I've put a clip up:
