Great stuff, as usual!
Very helpful and concise, thank you
Robben good lesson, we often use the dim scale and never realized. I love it I've watched several of you videos on it. It works on the R Charles "Unchain my heart ".
Stepping out of my comfort zone. That was my intent for watching. Thanks
The PRS594 sounds great!
Robben Ford with a PRS! So cool man.
So in the key of a what would be the minor third? Not c right? C would be the relative major?
I believe you are mixing up some concepts. In the key of 'A' (formally speaking 'A Minor'), C would be the minor third interval from 'A'. And... the key of C is the relative major of A minor, ie, the notes are the same, but the tonal center (where your brain/ear is focused) is different.
Dean botts C is the minor 3rd in the key of A minor. And yes, C major is the relative major of A minor
Dean botts
F# minor!!!!!!
Still Supro You’re thinking relative minor from A major
Why does this even matter?
I am confused because an A diminished scale, or any diminished scale starts with a whole step.
You are right. What he is showing is called the dominant diminished scale.
I dont understand this back to pentantonic
It has no context, I don't really see the point either.
@@SGspecial84 what do you mean? yes it does
@@MrFelleboi What music do you play with this scale?
@@SGspecial84 jazz
@@SGspecial84 but not for long just throw in a fast lick diminished sometimes, sound kinda cool. czcams.com/video/LecmfNxqzBs/video.html for example in 1.20 in this song he throws in a diminished scale for a lick
Man, I bet Robben cringes every time he looks down and remembers he's playing a PRS!
the guitar................
Ok, but whats the point?
If you're a rock guitarist, go back to sleep, but any other style this is really useful.
@@PrinceWesterburg metal uses dimished scales all the time
@@PrinceWesterburg Lots of metal guitar players use it, like Randy Rhoads and George Lynch
Music is about tension resolution right ?
terrible "lesson"..
