Varenna is one of those magical, beautiful villages along the shores of Lake Como in northern Italy. The lakefront setting gives it a marvelous ambiance with the pedestrian walkway and cafes right along the waterfront terrace, where you could have a delicious meal at one of several restaurants featuring that classic Italian cuisine and fresh fish right out of the lake or get some rich gelato from this gelateria inside an ancient stone arcade.

So beautiful off season. Thank you for showing us 'the other half' and a different mood.
I'm born in Como now living in UK... Missing home despite I was there last week.... ❤
calming videos so beautifully pictured with normal activities
You should visit there, it is truly amazing.
I was in Como in September of 2022 for the day from Milano. Easy to get there by train. Definitely a must see.
I have been looking forward to your Varenna vid. after watching your Bellagio vid. Once again Dennis you have covered much more than I have ever seen from Other Vlogs. No one else has mentioned the lovely gardens to the south of Varenna. Thank you again Dennis. Max. Australia.
Glad you enjoyed it, and those gardens!
You always make great videos :)
Well presentation ❤
Great video on Varenna! We were there in late October of 2022 as well. It would have been amazing to bump into you. Love all your travel videos. Varenna is very well represented here.
Glad you liked it. I do sometimes get recognized by viewers while traveling, a nice pleasure for me.
If you love nature you should visit Cascate di Acquafraggia e Val di Mello, one of the most beautiful alpine valleys. Both places are situated over the lake, about 30 km far from Colico.
Never been in Italy. It is definitely on my bucket list. Meanwhile I enjoy it through your videos. You just got a new subscriber!!!
Welcome aboard, you will love Italy!
Nicely explained 😊
Good to see you again Dennis 👍🏻
Ја запознав и Варена.. Ви благодариме.. ❤
Varebba us wibderful. A good choice to get over jet lag for your trip to Italy. Just fly into Milan, catch a train that let's you off right on the edge of twon and then just chill out, hop on an off the ferries, eat, relax, repeat. Then you'll be ready to dive into the more intense parts of your trip to Italy!
Wow
You should definitely visit Middelburg, Groningen and Hoorn if you're gonna return to the Netherlands in the future
We will be visiting in late September and I’m so excited. Do you recommend booking trains and ferries in advance? Also, I’m curious if reservations for dinner are recommended.
train reservations not required but can do it here: www.trenitalia.com/en.html
ferries just walk on
restaurants good idea to make reservations. September is high season.
Varenna ist the Tourist-Hell
Is it a great place to visit in february? particularly on the last week of february, trip for 5 days. And not just the scenerey, but the weather as well.
Thanks in advance
It should be fine, a bit cold, but not crowded.
Hello where do you take the bus to get to orrido di bellano in varenna?
When was this videotaped? We are hearing of issues with a land slide on May 19, 2023?
filmed October 2022, now recent floods have done some damage to a tunnel, which was along the road SP 72 in Varenna on the Lecco shore of Lake Como.
Did you also visit Bellagio?
what do you think about Italy's complaints about OVERTOURISM and its related problems...
They are valid. Rome, Florence and Venice are crazy during the high season. Go in the winter! There are many other fine places to see, which is why I made my website: townsofeurope.com/index.html
