  • Duct tape is so cool these days! We're not stuck with boring gray or silver anymore. Now it comes in a wide assortment of colors and patterns. But do you know what it's most useful for? Listen in to find out!
Join us for Day 13 of our series #GetWisdom as we check out Proverbs 13.
Duct tape - it comes in all kinds of colors these days. It’s best use? Taping your mouth shut. It could help you get wisdom. Although…it might hurt coming off.
    Verse of the Day
    Proverbs 13:3,
“Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.”
So basically, shut up. It’s important that we learn that sometimes we need to keep our mouths shut.
This might be wise when: Choosing how to react to people: should you run your mouth or stay silent?
It’s so important to learn to use our mouths wisely.
Reckless words make promises we can’t keep, divulge private information, offend people, misrepresent things, make a person undependable, and unenjoyable to be around.
    “Think before you speak.”
Does it need to be said?
Consider what might be the outcome if you say what you want to say. I once made jokes while hanging out at as a camp pastor for a weekend. I thought it was all good and funny until I got a phone call from a girl’s parents telling me that those jokes had caused their daughter to revisit some old disorders.
    I felt horrible.
What I said didn’t need to be said.
    It wasn’t helpful.
    It wasn’t uplifting.
Your words are powerful, not only for yourself, but for others.
    “Kind words leave nice echoes.”
    Again, “think before you speak.”
Does it need to be said?
Is it the right time to be said?
What will be the outcome if I say it?
There is a huge difference between responding and reacting.
    Responding: thoughtfulness, premeditated words.
    Reacting: going off without thinking.

God Almighty knows we all need help. This is why God called teachers and preachers, so we will get messages or teachings that we don't understand . We need to link us together like bible study 📖
Together is good for the kingdom of God. Keep on keeping on sis.

Father God, it is wise to know when we speak and what we speak in order to give life and preserve life! In accordance with this word and proverbs 13:3, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 I pray and bind one in my life, the lives of my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ to be wise to know how to preserve life and not bring ruin, binding myself not to be unequally yoked with and have any common share with those who have a talking mouth that brings ruin, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!

Today's scripture of the day was this verse. I sometimes use 19 to 20 minutes to expound on the particular passage. Your teaching today laid extra make it simple principles to use. Loose lips sink ships is what came to my mind. I will primarily talk about preservation and its purpose and can your words pass the test. What's the test? I am glad you asked. The test is taking every thought captive. If we arrested our thoughts more and interrogated them what a difference it could make. Yes it's just like chest. What's the interrogation? Great question. Paul on Philippians 4says think on these things:
    Whatever is pure
    Whatever is noble
    Whatever is right
    Whatever is pure
    Whatever is lovely
    Whatever is admirable
If it is excellent and praiseworthy that's what thoughts should be free to roam. And only based off those thoughts should we speak. Thank you again for your help

As many as are his sons are led by His Spirit. Also proverbs 3:5,6 so on point. We must not lean on our own understanding but in all of our ways acknowledge God and He will direct our paths of what to do, where to go and definitely what to say or not say‼️

i have a similar story, where i offended a teacher without knowing it, and i was one of his great student and he was too one of my amazing teacher, now because of not controlling or thinking through what i said our relationship is dead. yea i apologized because i learnt to notice things, and i noticed he was offended and so i asked if he was, and he was. apart from the duck tape, (its a great idea, but too cliche). what is the best way to getting into the habit of really considering your words before speaking?
