The Musical Shapes album has a soft-spot in my heart and yes it does have that 80s sound to it because it's FROM the 80s...but Carlene is a talented singer and this album has a lot of good tunes on it. Listen to the duet with Dave Edmunds called Baby Ride Easy. It's pretty cool.
very fortunate of you.i never had the privilege.used to love his television show in the late sixties when i was a little kid..john was always pretty hip to rock, performing with dylan and joni mitchell and the like.tony bennett's another guy who made it all the way back, probably more due to frank sinatra dying and leaving him the crown.anyway,i prefer roseanne to carlene but carlene is o.k.it's not easy being the child of a legend and both girls show a lot of class.unlike, hank williams jr.,say...
Give JC my number...I'd love to talk to him. I actually saw JC in Vegas many years ago when his career was kinda in the shitter. Before Rick Rubin got a hold of him. It was great except for the patriotic number.

Never heard her version because a lot of her early work is new to me. But I've loved her since I Fell in Love. She does an amazing job!
Musical Shapes is a Rockpile album. File it with your Dave Edmonds and Nick Lowe stuff.
You hit the nail on the head!!!!!
Abby Nyman turned me on to this version.
john skypes regularly.it's amazing how quickly he picked it up.

Sounds more like 80's pop than country.
really? you're "sure"? how much do you charge for a seance? BTW- I knew it was a JCC song.
