I actually thought the planes of duviri were going to be an open world infested place. This looks more like what the void might be, or at least somewhere that has past, present, and future time lines spliced into one.

A paradox implies that there is time travel shenanigans going on it’s possible that the operator is in the future that is why they look older but things from the past (the Dax and the zarimen and maybe that younger operator) are all being put into this one space probably in the void
