Looks like you all found some wonderful pieces. This was one of those 'magical' Shard-a-licious Adventure's I've always heard of. Something akin to picking roses and getting constant reminders that with beauty comes thorns (or in this case shards of glass). Cheers!
Bucket List place! So is my day with you guys! Love love love obsidian, I do believe it to be my favorite and is also the hardest to work with. Beautiful material, looked like you had a good time, so nice to have a guide like Rouge to help things along too.
Andrew is my dude!!! Awesome yall hooked up and found some killer rainbow obsidian. It was fun watching you guys dig and pry the chunks from the earth. Great video 🙂
😂 My only regret from this road trip was not having a camera strapped to my head at dismal swamp to capture what we went through, it would have been GOLD and absolutely hilarious!🤣 No footage, only memories!🤣 Talk about an expedition!
Beautiful rainbow obsidian, I’d really love some of them. Living in the uk, and being disabled, I don’t think it’s going to happen x❤ thank you for bringing us along xx
I’ve found if you can get the stuff that looks kind of grayish color, that’s where you can find a bunch of the rainbow or aurora borealis. I have a map someone gave me that shows where the different types of obsidian can be found.
I don’t even know what I can send yall that you don’t have at this point 😅🤪 but I still have a box with your name on it that needs to come your way soon.
We have only been there one time. I don’t know of a claimed area for fire obsidian, but I’m sure there is more! We are from Arizona, but when we come back we would possibly consider doing an event in search of fire obsidian.😃
I've driven by Glass Butte many times, now I want to check it out. I've often wondered how many slivers the Indians would get making arrow heads. As a retired saw filer I'd get many metal slivers and use a pair of Magnifying Tweezers to remove the "invisible" ones. Still keep them in my camping gear. Thanks for the video.
I never was much impressed with obsidian, but now that I see the rainbow obsidian, I’m in love!
It was pretty amazing!🤩
So pretty. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!🙌🏼

Thank you! Funny, I had gloves, I just never put them on. It was really awesome seeing all the different types of rainbow that came out!

Thanks Daniel! Obsidian is very hard to work with. Just like polishing glass.😮💨 Andrew was awesome. We had a great time with him and Nate!

Thank you! Yes! Him and Nate were real fun to dig with! Learned about his cool tools and bought some for our own collection!🤣🙌🏼
I can’t even with yall 😅 such great adventures and amazing finds! I’m so jealous of your roadtrip!! 😁

The only place I hound anymore "Glass Buttes"!!
Great video, awesome finds..
Thank you!🙌🏼 Glass buttes was awesome!!
This is truly a WOW video! I love this Obsidian my favorite was the one with large curved grey/silver lines through it, but the purple was Wow!
Thank you Patricia! Seeing the rainbow in the obsidian was pretty awesome!
I absolutely love to knap obsidian.
We saw someone out there knapping while we were digging.😃
Beautiful rock and great video!
Thank you Jim!
Wow you guys found some awesome color. Just another place I would love to go to.
Looks like a road trip is in your future!😄🙌🏼
Thank you for the video!
Thank you for watching!🙏🏼
We like glass Butte and little glass Butte too. Keep having fun, but no more cuts.
🤣 Yes! I should have worn my gloves, but I kept seeing shiny objects that called my name.🤣

Thank you! We are able to ship to the UK!
That last one looked like gold sheen. Very cool video, great finds too!
Glass and steel slivers are the worst!!😫
Yes you are correct!
I know! I’d rather cleave it and leave it.🤣
Holy sheen! 😂 A few of those pieces looked like Borealis obsidian! 🤩 Great trip and your editing is getting phenomenal! Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you Brian! We have a bunch more that we haven’t even cleaved yet. I am still wondering what we got. I had fun editing this one!😃🙌🏼
Pretty material!
It was on the bucket list!🤩
❤🔥🔥🔥
🙏🏼💖
There are several places in Oregon on my list this year!
Oregon is a great rockhounding spot! It’s definitely a must!
That looks like to much work 😂beautiful stuff though ❤
It was work, but worth it! 🙌🏼😃

We stopped at a gas station in Paulina and got a map like that too. But we had the Rogue Rockhound with us, which was even better.😃
I have cut a bit of obsidian and some pieces were easy to orient the schiller in and some was not.
Finding that perfect side is very hard. Rainbow obsidian is very tricky!
I don’t even know what I can send yall that you don’t have at this point 😅🤪 but I still have a box with your name on it that needs to come your way soon.
🤣🤣
When will someone do a dig for Fire Obsidian from Glass Buttes? I know its a claim area but there should be remnants outside the claim area.

Hey, I was wondering if it’s reasonably flat, hilly and flat, or really hilly?🙂(wheelchair user)
It’s a little hilly, and some flat. You could Rockhound right off the road in all places though, it’s everywhere!

I can only imagine what metal feels like, little glass chards were awful, sometimes I was out there trying to find them to pick it out.🤣
