    I have one of those. Get you a 4x8 sheet of shower board, very slick stuff and lay it in the bed and run the unloader fabric on top. I have moved 2 Ton- 4000 pounds of rock, easy peasy.

    Picking one up tomorrow. Put a regular tarp under the unloading mat. That way you can easily pull out the debris that the mat doesn’t pull out.

    I have a delivery business that does a lot of building materials. Were you able to fabricate your own bar to work with this? Or is there a heavy duty version of this somewhere? Is the "tarp" that comes with it replaceable. So if it does get torn I get replace it with something off the self instead of re buying an unloader each time? I have yet to buy one. But could you combine some kind of setup with Locking Hand Crank Dump Truck Trailer Tarp Roller? When looking at this item on amazon it tells me people looking at the unloader look at this too.

      Hi, thanks for watch'n! I never got around to fabricating my own bar, It recently bowed on me, I bent it back and it worked through another job. I have yet to see a heavy duty version. I do not believe that the tarp is replaceable, I will say the tarp has held up quite nicely for me, its the only thing I have not had to fix on my undloader. Let me know if you end up making a stronger version of this, I may have to buy one off ya.

    I'm guessing that the bar is hollow, if so I wonder if you can slip a piece of rebar in it to stiffen it up?

    • @WorknDirt
      @WorknDirt  Před 4 lety

      Poor Johnn I thought about that too! I believe you can if you were to bolt a 2 x 4 horizontal along the back of the trailer but you would want to make sure you have it secured very well.! If you try it please let me know how it turns out and send a picture. Thanks for watching

    • @ericklaiber9168
      @ericklaiber9168 Před 4 lety

      The handle would be too long as the trailer doesn't sit up high enough to go around in a complete circle. You can shorten the handle but then the leverage to actually turn the mechanism gets decreased.

    Have you ever tried using it for removal projects? I’m thinking about getting 7.5’ ramps and using the electric wheelbarrow to get landscaping waste off customers property up into the pickup. I think the ramp might be tricky with bar sticking out pst the tailgate.

    • @WorknDirt
      @WorknDirt  Před 2 lety

      good question, i would probably disconnect the bar and let it hang down off the tailgate to allow placing the ramps on the tailgate . also put something thin down under the contact area of the ramps on the tailgate to protect the slip sheet! you can reconnect after👍

    I have had the ORIGIONAL Load Handler for over 15 years . Harbor freight sells it now that the patent is over . BTW it did not work well because of the tarp causing more friction . the sheet and the bed liner is enough . hand scoop the load from behind the wheel wells as it will LOCK the load . doing this it will unload with ease . then hop in the bed and sweep it out .

    • @WorknDirt
      @WorknDirt  Před 3 lety

      wow I’m surprised you’ve had it for 15 years and it still works? I wonder if the original was better than Harbor freight‘s version.thanks for the input

      @tgr822 Před 3 lety

      @@WorknDirt The load handler crank bar is straight I never noticed the shaft bar bend . twice I have had people not think and stand on it jumping off the tail gate and break the tail gate clamp in which I ordered new hardware ( long time ago you could get metal clamps ) I still have the original sheet , bar and handle . I just used it to unload a whole cut up deck that I brought to the dump that my 4'8" girlfriend unloaded . with all the videos I would say spend twice as much and buy the original load handler as it looks like the bar flexing is a big problem .

      I think the tarp actually made it worse. I'd rather take five minutes and sweep it out when I'm done, or get a leaf blower and do it, if it means I'm not struggling just getting the load out of the bed in the first place. JMO. Thanks for the video!
