He changed the lyrics. Huang even cried because of the new arrangement and the modified lyrics. Either the directors don't have the new lyrics or don't want to put in the new lyrics.
I think the copyright allows him to change lyrics but doesn't allow the show to change the subtitles for whatever reason. Also, Huang Ma cried because she wrote this song to heal people's souls, so she doesn't want others singing it only because it's popular. Wang OK also explained that she didn't choose to sing this song for its popularity.
