ALWAYS replace your gaskets! This is how you get exhaust leaks. Trust me my friend. I have done it.

I cant seem to find my gaskets... is it possible that they were not installed at manufacturing? Nothing rubbery at all. Any help would be awesome.

I have an 07 C50, installed cobra streetrod slashdown pipes.....incredible loud! After a year, I'm either going to find a way to silence them alot....or replace stock pipes.....just too loud for me. Any ride longer than 10 min sets my ears ringing!

Sorry for the late reply. I didn’t have to do either of those.

I don't know dude, the blindspot theory is seriously flawed, exhaust note comes out the back, you are moving forward. Try it out for yourself, ask yourself when a loud bike is approaching from the rear whether or not you hear it before or after it passes you? Its just not true. You are an ER nurse, respect. However, I am a veteran rider, and instructor of racing and road motorcycles. Its simply not true and a terrible way to convince yourself you are safer from being wiped out by a blindspot related lane change etc. You should be aware that you are in blind spot by simple road position analysis in relation to the other vehicles and be NOT in it, or at least for as little time as possible, to avoid this. In other words, do not ride in blindspots, go through them quickly and be fully prepared for any sudden movements from the driver. Its that simple. Loud bikes are simply disturbing the peace, and basically, if you read the rules of the road, illegal, and for racing bikes only. Its that simple. Good luck with you hearing, and hope you don't damage other peoples hearing, like seniors waiting to cross the road. ER nurses are not professional motorcyclists, as professional motorcyclists are not ER nurses. The patients you are treating are the ones with these false beliefs perpetuated by people like you. So stop telling people who are learning these terrible and unsafe bits of erroneous advice. Its that serious.

Better words of wisdom I've not read. Another easy test is on a kids merry go round. Compare the voices as they face away vs towards you and the truth should be out there.

Only took me 9 months to see this lol. What you are saying makes sense, and I may be completely wrong. I do not have any true evidence backed research to prove what I said. Ultimately, it makes me feel safer which is huge, at least for me. Granted, feeling safe alone is not enough and obeying laws while riding smart is the most important factor to safety. Loud pipes, at most, might be a nuisance, they will certainly not damage anyone’s hearing that hears me passing by. This I can prove with research if needed :). However, most importantly, thank you for looking out for the community and being a valued riding instructor :).

I am not sure you will see this but did you have to tune the bike after you installed the exhaust, have same bike and want to upgrade my exhaust and been told both ways.

I did not need to tune it. I have been riding it with a simple install and have not had any issues.
