I found it so odd how these things can just pop up. I woke up one morning back in November of 2019 and I heard whooshing. I thought maybe water got in my ears until I realized it was sync with my heartbeat. The whooshing came maybe after a week of having pink eye on the same side as my PT. I went to ENT told me to wait a month to see if it’ll go away, waited and it did not go away. So, he sent me out for a MRI/MRA. Got a call back that it looked normal. Now it’s still an on going problem. It’s scary thinking they may have missed something. I’m pretty strong at dealing with things, I just want to insure it’s nothing life threatening. low in Vitamin D usually & have some jaw issues I can tell. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of it eventually. Love that someone like you guys are out there that actually specialize in something like this 😊.

My ENT doctor said that after looking at my CT and CTA that I have a high-riding jugular bulb on both sides, especially on the RIGHT and the turbulent blood flow there is causing my Pulsatile Tinnitus. The pulse-synchronized tinnitus is in both ears but louder and more pronounced in the RIGHT. Also my ENT doctor is worried about my fast resting heart rate (about 95-100 bpm) and my high white blood count in my CBC with differential blood labs.
In my next appointment with my ENT dr I will ask for a referral to a Vascular Neurologist to delve deeper into diagnosis and treatment options. If they can't figure it out I will try to go to UCSF Pulsatile Tinnitus Clinic in San Francisco where they have a dedicated team of world class doctors who specialize in Pulsatile Tinnitus.
I am wondering if there is a surgical procedure for high-riding jugular bulb that can be done to get rid of the Pulsatile Tinnitus. I will ask my doctors.

I've had this on and off for years. IMO, Sometimes it can be related to fungal overgrowth in the body, head, etc. I'm taking an antifungal and doing natural treatments as well.
I plan to make an appt with dr this week to rule out causes they can find.

I went to the ER many times in the last month including last night for severe Pulsatile tinnitus, extreme vertigo, persistent migraines, and each time they turned me away, discharged me with no relief saying that there’s nothing the ER can to for my situation. They said I need to see a specialist. But I’ve seen many specialists and got an MRI, CT scan, and Carotid Bilateral ultrasound, and all three of those imaging tests showed nothing abnormal.
Do those tests even check for turbulent blood flow in the veins near the ears? Is a Venography better to detect turbulent blood flow? I am losing hope and already making plans for suicide because the torture of this Pulsatile tinnitus is too much to bare. I am taking so much Xanax to calm me down and now even Xanax doesn’t help. I’m at the end of the line here

Why kill your self? You can learn to live with PT..just ignore..exercises/ music. rain..it is for the rest of your life. Just imaging that every body has it, that comes naturally in your body, the same way you have mucus, flems, tears, you pee, you have stomach ache, yua have love, you are sad, happy etc.. humans , we are humans with a sound in our ear. that is it. I have it.
