But yes I was having a lot of digestive issues, major anxiety, stomach pain sensations, purple knees/under eyes, muscle spasms, kidney issues like peeing (clear pee) a lot in a single day. I weigh 130 btw so I’m fit.
people definitely don’t take gluten allergies seriously. they don’t think of it as an actual allergy. for 18 years i was in pain & discomfort. I had an abnormally big & bloated stomach. but I was healthy, I had muscle & swam competitively. so the size of my stomach didn’t make sense. it looked like i was pregnant & it felt like my stomach was stretching. It also made me extremely insecure. once I found out about gluten allergies, I cut out gluten to see what would happen. suddenly, for the first time in my life, my stomach looked and felt normal & I stopped having certain pains. it’s a shame that people don’t think it’s a big deal.
I have celiac and it hit me all at once and the first 3 months of going to the doctors and getting diagnosed was hell and i thought i was going to die. I'm finally healed though and am fine almost a year and a half later. The main difference between celiac and gluten intolerance is if you have celiac and ingest gluten it raises your chance of cancer where as intolerance doesn't and with celiac there's a lot of other health problems you can end up dealing with.
My mom and sister both in their adult lives ended up not being able to eat gluten like not as just some like fad diet thing like they medically cannot have gluten because they have colitis and gluten will literally cause their body to attack itself and it will kill them because it will inhibit them to absorb nutrients. I'm just hoping that I never developed the issue but I do have a genetic chance of it.

One of my friends has Celiac's and has to be careful what shampoo, conditioner, and lotion she uses because even getting a small amount on her skin hurts her. Colitis does not usually cause that severe of a reaction as the tolerance to gluten is slightly higher and more focused on an intolerance to ingesting gluten. Celiac's also causes distinctive villi flattening in the small intestine while colitis causes inflammation (and often sores) in the bowel that can affect the large or small intestine and these can be triggered by a variety of foods including gluten. This is kind of like how allergies to milk are not the same as intolerance. When you are intolerant, you get sick if you eat too much. When you're allergic you can get sick if it even touches your skin.

But you just need to understand where gluten comes from and know what to avoid. Potato, rice and corn based things will more often than not be fine to eat. Plus packaging tends to say in bold on the back "contains gluten", if it contains gluten. Super easy and convenient. BTW, "may contain gluten" is also safe to eat so dont worry about that. They just slap it on there to avoid potential lawsuits in cases of cross-contamination. Also just adding this: as a kid, i used to get a rash if i had dairy. So exclusively drank soy and almond milk. Ive heard a lot of people say soy and almond milk are gross, but i really think its just more so because they arent used to it. I remner when i was ahout 14 and started drinking dairy milk again after years of not drinking it and thinking it tasted really weird and not really liking it as much as almond milk, but i got used to it and now i dont care what milk i drink. So for people who think eating gluten free food and stuff sucks, just try to keep an open mind and youll get used to it and eventually when you think of bread, youll just think of gluten free bread as being the default :)

Also gluten intolerance/ gluten sensitivity is not equal to celiac. If you think you have a gluten sensitivity get tested for celiac too and learn the differences!

I am not sure if you watched Charlie's video from a few days ago called 'Moist Critical situation is crazy', but he mentions that he is taking a step to focus more on things he actually wants to do with his channel and taking a step back from a lot of the internet stuff in general for mental health reasons since it's all becoming less and less fun compared to how it used to feel. Charlie even said he won't being doing the Red Thread podcast anymore since it requires him to be online far more often which he wants to cut back on. Charlie also mentioned that apart of his reasons for cutting back on internet stuff and focusing his channel on topics he feels would be fun to talk about is that he has recently in the last 6 months felt increasingly pressured to always quickly make videos on various topics and drama which isn't something he wants his channel to be all about, and so he again is refraining from always covering those kinds of topics for a while for the most part as he wants to focus on making videos on topics that he can actually have fun with. Basically, Charlie doesn't want his channel's content to become all about drama and heavy topics as he wants to be able to have fun with his channel, and so he is reducing the amount of that kind of content as he instead focuses on just having fun with his channel without feeling pressure to always be covering the latest drama or heavy topics that come out. To be fair, Charlie is only stating what he's heard, and so he avoids some stuff out of just being cautious. The only seriously questionable part to me was the dairy part since studies really do go back and forth on it's health impacts saying it's good, it's bad, etc.. The microplastics are not fully understood on the impacts of adults, but some studies show it does impact development of fetuses. When it comes to gluten, yeah that's just a roll of the dice on allergies and genetics.

Basically, Charlie doesn't want his channel's content to become all about drama and heavy topics as he wants to be able to have fun with his channel, and so he is reducing the amount of that kind of content as he instead focuses on just having fun with his channel without feeling pressure to always be covering the latest drama or heavy topics that come out. Charlie seems to be wanting to walk a fine line of covering some topics that might be heavy from time to time versus covering every last one of these kinds of heavy topics which is what he felt very pressured to do recently.

It baffles me Charlie just keeps spreading misinformation about diet and nutrition. We have the same degree and I think it's a Florida education diff
To be fair, Charlie is only stating what he's heard, and so he avoids some stuff out of just being cautious. The only seriously questionable part to me was the dairy part since studies really do go back and forth on it's health impacts saying it's good, it's bad, etc.. The microplastics are not fully understood on the impacts of adults, but some studies show it does impact development of fetuses. When it comes to gluten, yeah that's just a roll of the dice on allergies and genetics.

It's just fear mongering and create the idea that there's "Good" and "bad" foods. As you get older everything starts to get worse even then it's all genetic like you said. As long as you're eating a wide variation of foods throughout the day you're gonna be totally fine.
