    David, Great videos for the Kegland Series X Kegerator build. I bought the Komos three tap from Morebeer, I should have gotten the four tap. With the three tap the tower build is a bit different, it is easier to assemble the tower prior to attaching it to the kegerator as the mounting screws are on the peripheral of the tower instead of the inside. Just don't forget to install the base trim ring first, or you end up doing it over. You can guess how I know.

    • @DavidHeathHomebrew
      @DavidHeathHomebrew  Před 2 lety

      Many thanks John. The Komos is simply a rebrand. Yes the 3 tap tower and below are much thinner but the screw points are easier :)

      Hi David, I just stopped by for this same update. My Series X 3-tap model came with a small diameter tower. I found it wasn't possible to build in situ, although it was very easy once I removed the tower. Of course, I also forgot to install the base trim ring first, so I built my tower three times before getting it right. (The 4-tap tower has no trim ring.)
      Big thanks for the great videos! You've given me the confidence to start home kegging. 🍺

      @@DavidHeathHomebrew I was thinking more about the connectivity between the kegerator and the tap (as this is directly fitted to the kegerator, whereas in a "home pub" situation you would want the tap / tower mounted onto the bartop itself). So some sort of "DIY-ing" is assumed to ensure the hole at the top of the kegerator needs to be sealed except for allowing the beer lines out...?

    • @DavidHeathHomebrew

    Hi, David :) great content as always, thank you! I have a video idea/request; I know you have previously discussed SS Brewtech vs Grainfather Chronical fermenters, but I would really like to see a comparison or pro/con of those versus the newer unitanks that are hitting the market. I know they are at different price points, but it would be nice to hear your take on what is worth the money and what is not.

    Hey David! From your experience, how long can your brews keep in kegs? There seems to be alot of misinformation on the internets about this... some say months, some say weeks. My buddy who works for a big domestic brewery here in canada says its a matter of a couple weeks for their brand?

    • @DavidHeathHomebrew
      @DavidHeathHomebrew  Před 3 lety

      This really depends on how it has been handled and the recipe. My kegs generally last up to 2 months due to being drunk and I’ve never had to throw any out. As long as you do not oxidise the beer then it should last some months for you, even if it contains volatile ingredients like wheat.

      Sorry but this is the part I am not covering in this guides, there are plenty of them on CZcams already :) Usually it is one hole in the top though that you will mount a tap tower to.
