I love Billy’s gameplay. Non lock-on dodge attack means he got more freedom of movement than the rest of the cast. I like using the cat girl’s weapon and doing my best to do the buffed ultimate on enemy backs.
ZZZ is weird. I like the game a lot... I'm just not hooked. I wish they'd make two big decisions: 1) stop forcing people to play the TV puzzles. I know they're there as a stand-in for exploration, but it doesn't work. You don't even get a sense for the environment you're in because you can't see anything but the TV icons. It doesn't actually feel like you're exploring. I'd rather the main story was just a Rally-type mode where you fight through stages between comic book scenes / conversations / animated cutscenes. 2) Build out the combat: give enemies more engaging attack patterns. People say ZZZ is "easy" but I disagree -- there are hard fights later on. It's just... unstimulating because you fight almost everything in the same way. The best enemies in the game imo are enemies like Thanatos (the one that teleports and has unpredictable telegrams) that keep you on your feet. Things start to get stale and predictable since 99% of combat is just spamming the same attack patterns to trigger a daze so you can hit the enemy with a heavy and spam chain attacks, while waiting for enemies to attack you predictably so you can hit parry. Rinse, repeat ad nauseam. There's a little variety atm, but the problem is you deal with every enemy the same way: dog thing with a shield on its head? Space bar and spam the same rotation. Enemies that spit bombs at you? Space bar and spam the same rotation. Dudes with gun? Space bar and spam the same rotation. Etc. These complaints are not people whining; they're genuine constructive criticism from people who don't care about artificial rivalries and are willing to back the game as long as you give them a fun action game. So I hope MiHoYo will pick up on this and add more aggressive enemies with cool, novel mechanics that keep you on your toes.
For me, daze = chain = dopamine = repeat. It’s very addicting to reach that next chain attack. Plus I’m not that smart so a lot of bosses catch me off guard when I’m not paying attention.
Hot take - TV sections are fine, if not 'good'. I enjoy them, genuinely. As for engaging attack patterns / strategy variety, it totally matters - you absolutely need to switch swap orders and be specific with character positioning when dealing with mass groups of enemies. As for single targets, the weekly bosses at higher ranks are a *huge* pain if you don't approach positioning and counter/dodge choices different.
Your first criticism imo is a bad one. People give tv mode way too much flak for no reason, it's charming because they are very gimmicky. There is a pokemon/fight club/rpg stage where you need to give your bangboos items and skills to help them progress in the arena to fight against ennemies with different gimmicks. It takes easily 30 minutes but its's fun! The tv mode is a way for the devs to do something creative and they absolutely deliver, it's bursting with cool ideas. Point 2 on the other hand is a very good point imo while i think it is way too harsh because the game will evolve with time and therefore it's only laying the groundwork yet, the ennemies are probably the least interesting part of the gameplay loop. And i don't even fall in the trap of calling the game easy which needs to be praised because it's annoying to see it from people who haven't actually had to experience the difficulty spike. But you also forget about the anomaly system completly, this is an awesome system that complement hp and daze plus it means you can run multiple characters of different element together! Which isn't true for pgr wherein you're pigeon holed into a specific team for each element with no fluidity and interaction between the 2. Anyway let'em cook

what i like about zzz is world building / design / animation / comic book art style for cutscenes...combat is a hit or miss if not get stale after you finish chapter 1.
There is also cool little unique animations Under certain conditions like if you have koleda And been in the same team then they will do team up attacks and will even change koledas Ultimate to include ben , showing just how Unique their bond is, And for nicole if your Triangle action is active and you run around spinning in place And then hold down the triangle button while doing so.Nicole will do a unique animation where instead of shooting her black hole from a standing position She will sit down on her suit case And shoot it from a sitting position
No matter what games or content you cover, ill enjoy your thoughts on stuff i dont even play. You helped change my mind over PGR a lonnnnng time ago and it was honestly so refreshing to hear a woman talk so avidly about outfits and stuff and how cute they were and about how unnecessary some things are. You call things like you see them and if you like it, we can tell. You guys are incredibly genuine. Reminds me a lot of my sister honestly when i showed her anime years ago. She had a perspective i just never even heard or thought about. Glad youre getting the views you finally deserve. As for ZZZ, i have been playing it, but very slow at my own pace, like 20 min a day tops. It came direct to PS5 day one unlike WuWa, so that won huge points for me. Really fun tho.

Hey man, you should try zzz, its pretty fun. Im currently playing pgr/wuwa/zzz and im having a good time. Definitely pgr has a better combat system but zzz is unique in its own way in terms of combat. Partner swapping is smooth and fluid because you technically dont have any cooldown for it. For a very simple combat aspect for the game, it has good amount of tech for you to dip your toes in the water. I'd say this is mihoyo's best game out of the 3(genshin/HSR/ZZZ)
I've been playing since day one on PC and I realized something just today. At first I first I was bummed out about the 50 GB download but it's because the large amount of combat computation is done on the PC so the combat is more fluid even when the internet is a bit junky.
I dropped WuWa for ZZZ, its comfy. WuWa is too time consuming since Im playing PGR too. Ill miss Sanhua but Anby is basically green Sanhua so eh. I also seem to be in the minority that likes TVs. One of my favorite games of all time is an old JRPG called Valkyrie Profile, which had anime style cutscenes, tons of diverse character stories, 3D overworld with "hall of doors" to dungeon crawls, and team battle sequences inside the dungeons. The TVs as puzzle dungeons feel just right for my taste. Anyway I love Corin and the biker chicks AAAAAAAAAAAAA
Honestly, the 110gb is really justified by how well made the game is. Rip to my ssd size tho. Also dont sleep on the combat, it aint PGR but it for sure has as much depth as BBTAG.
Graphically, artistically and the creativity of this game is the best in the gacha space and an example of how to imbue breathtaking personality in a simple and fun way, they did an amazing job

The sheer charisma of this game is unmatched on the gacha space; it manages to hit almost every single one of my nostalgia buttons and it just oozes style. At least as far as presentation goes, Mihoyo hit an absolute home run with ZZZ.
As both artist and animators, ZZZ always look stunning in term of visual and arts no matter where you go All I can say is Mihoyo really invest their money for game arts

I love the direction Hoyo did for ZZZ, it's like all the crazy ideas and designs that the dev team had was put into ZZZ since the game is not connected to the current existing Multiverse that they are using for their other games. Design-wise, I wish that the effects we get from using a character's signature W-Engine was more pronounced than just have it look like they turned on the RGB in their hair highlights.
The game is literally swimming in style and intent. So many reviewers glanced over this stuff. It's the type of style that games like persona have which built their reputation. And guaranteed later down the line people are gonna be looking back on how much of a gem this game actually is. Especially as it grows with content and features over the years
