As the one responsible for the currently biggest Snakewood remake with Stygian Snakewood, it brings me such joy that so many people are willing to give a second look into this game after 14 years. These sprites are amazing and I would love to see them in a game
Honestly, the only change I'd want for the game would be either a buff to the starter lines, or a new fakemon final evolution for each that lets them keep up with other stronger pokemon.
Not gonna lie, when I first saw the blacked out sprite for Hombeast, i thought ya were going to go for a crossed arms, tough-guy/thug pose for the claws. Was a little disappointed you only went with the dynamic pose but it still looks good. Though, i have to say, the Icon sprite *absolutely* makes the design, that shit is *so fucking cute* when it hops like that i want one now. Same with Grimreaper, the way it looks like its cackling in its icon sprite just had so much personality. Absolutely fits the edgy aesthetic while also embacing the silly.
I think Qwilshark is the my favorite just by virtue of it of it being redesigned to retain many of Qwilfish's elements. Also Psypig's egg group makes as much sense as Krookodile and Fuecoco not being in the Monster egg group as in. It doesn't make sense for a pig to be in the same egg group as mostly reptilian Pokemon.
I’ve been working on a fanmade Snakewood sequel recently and I still love the cult following this game seems to have had (although most are laughing AT it lol). These sprites look great and I’m glad Snakewood was the first to have a continuation of sprite remakes.
@@classic_ink I wanna release a 3 gym demo, and currently everything up to the 2nd gym is done, but I still gotta import the fakemon. So I guess sometime soonish? Idk
instead of buffing zombies, it might have been cooler to rework them to have like lower different hp and def values to match being you know an decaying corpse
i always thought the crack on hombone was it making a duck face XD also imagine if you had a ceratin amount of faceleeches in your party you could get a zombie version of deoxys. but you have to bring it somewhere for that to happen. and maybe make the faceleech scattered throughout the region behind puzzles or challenges.
Love these videos but they feel so much of a tease, I would like to play an entire region with your (re)designs. I wish I had the money to make you do all sprites for the game I'm making.
do you actually plan on making a whole game? if so i cant wait to see it. (i would recommend, as some more modern romhacks have, upping the shiny rate just a bit if possible. at least to modern day levels lol. i wanna see the cool shinies in game too)

Quilshark having texture and general stuff, wonder if the tailfin couldve done better, like you said some evos barely resemble the original so some hybrid of kinda doing it instead of upgrading original or new kind of evolved ideal.
I'm currently making my own romhack using rpg maker and pokemon essential, tho I'm still new at this. Can anyone tell what software he is using on 14:18? It seems like it would be easier add fakemon using that. Thanks
I don't know, but that's definitely not in Essentials. What he's doing is basically modifying the rom of a game, in contrast of the Pokemon Essentials fangames which are made from scratch in a new engine instead of modifying a specific rom. Either way, if you want fakemon into your fangame, I recommend watching Thundaga's tutorial series.

I remember Snakewood ... it had so much potential but it was such garbage. A couple of remakes have been ok I kinda wanna see what a modern take on it would look like. These designs should be in the game for sure.
Never saw the point of adding blood and gore into pokemon fangames, it's such an ineffective attempt of "shock" "humor" that it doesn't even register as edgy, just boring and misguided. Painting ketchup, meatloaf, and bones on everything won't do _anything_ in a post [Happy Tree Friends] world.
