    The Seneca Dragon Claw has just received a significant power boost with the all-new Dragon Claw II! This timeless classic now packs even more punch, boasting an impressive 100+ FPE increase without sacrificing user-friendliness.
    What sets the Dragon Claw II apart is its incredible versatility. You have the choice of using lead ammo or air bolts, and with its rifled barrel, those air bolts become exceptionally accurate. These 430 grain bolts reach speeds over 600 FPS, making them unstoppable even against the largest game.
    Thanks to its dual large air reservoirs, you can enjoy plenty of shots on a single fill while out in the field. Filling the Dragon Claw II to 3000 PSI is a breeze, thanks to the female quick disconnect fitting on the bottom air reservoir.

    This puppy seems like the OG of big bore air rifles. I still remembering lusting over it but the air pumps were extremely expensive back then. I got my pump for 60 bucks shipped and works fine. While cell phones keep getting more expensive. WTH

    The Seneca Dragon Claw I 50 cal: Best ammo: Nielsen Specialty ammo .498 - Swage- 235 - TC - HP -6
    The fill pressure 2700psi, Zero at 50 yards
    Donnie FL Moderator
    3 shot group one hole shaped like a triangle, finding the ammo the rifle likes really helped as did filling to only 2700 psi.

    Other ammo tested: Seneca 50 Cal 177gr RB (Round Ball), Seneca 50 Cal 185gr PHP (Slug Hollow Point)
    and Nielsen Specialty ammo .495 - Swage- 235gr (not good at all)
    The upgrades I was hoping to see would be as follows:
    1. Regulated - to give more shot count (3,000PSI, drop down to 2700 or Less)
    2. Jam Screw to adjust the transfer port (Marauder style)
    3. Hammer Spring guide with adjustable screw (Marauder style)
    The 600+ FPS for the air bold could be adjusted down if the gun was regulated. (300-400fps is the most speed you need)
    600FPS means ZERO chance of using the bolt 2X.
    Would you happen to know the bolt speed at the lower power setting?
    What was the diameter of the Nielsen ammo?
    Thank you for the video.
    I may shoot a video through my digital scope, with Crono data (FX full data table), time permitting.
    I hate removing the scope on a rifle that is a tack driver at 50 yards, just to get the video. 🎯

    How do you remove the rear sights ?

    • @SmartPlugs
      @SmartPlugs Před 5 měsíci

      After you remove the elevation adjusting screw and the spring, there is a yellow Philips head screw underneath the spring. Remove this mounting screw and if necessary, a sharp, wide chisel can be used to separate the rear sight from the mount.

    You are so right about stopping that air bolt at that speed because you most likely will get “1” shot with that bolt and it will be totally destroyed 😂

    • @tylerpatner6591
      @tylerpatner6591 Před 7 měsíci

      So long as you're not shooting it at 10 yards, most of the 500 fps rated archery targets will stop it without an issue. We use a Big Shot 500 on our range, and it can stop them at 10 yards, but shooting it further is definitely better/increases the likelihood of stopping it without the bolt over-penetrating.

    • @SmartPlugs
      @SmartPlugs Před 5 měsíci +1

      Our CAP Dragon Patented Power Tune of the Dragon Claw shoots the Air bolts at 700 plus FPS. We use two 450 FPS crossbow rated archery targets placed one in front of the other to gradually slow down the bolt and avoid damage from rapid de-acceleration. Using this method we have reused the same 700 plus FPS bolt many times

    1.5” @ 45 yds w/only 3 rounds, none of them on of which are on POA and key-holing? I’m gonna have to disagree on it being ethical for hunting. Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm? There’s plenty of big bore offerings near the same price point that doesn’t cater only to right handed shooters and can group at practical rifle hunting distances

  • @donwilson350

    I don't understand why anybody would buy a gun like that that's got such a heavy trigger pull that is the most important thing on the rifle is a nice trigger for accuracy if you have to pull on it all day to get it to shoot how are you going to be accurate with a gun like this that's totally ridiculous I would never buy a gun with a trigger pull that heavy never

    • @donwilson350
      @donwilson350 Před 7 měsíci

      I don't know I guess it depends on what you want I think some of the newer aea air rifles I believe have better triggers I've got two of them that are like a four or five pound pull that's totally ridiculous I've got used to them I guess the Texans have a really good trigger if you want a single shot but I don't like single shots they say that new Benjamin Bulldog 457 one person's got it and it's got a 3-lb trigger another one's got one that they say a 18 Oz trigger so I don't know

  • @lordgarion514

    Nice gun, but the idiot who thought having the filling connection sticking out the front end past the barrel, needs his head beat in.
    More air capacity is great, but that bottom tube needs to be about half as long as it is.
    It would greatly improve the odds of the connection not getting broken, and it would improve the guns handling.
    I'd have to have a lifetime warranty covering accidental breakage, with free shipping and repair of that fill connector before I bought this.
    THAT is piss poor design.
