I just started watching their videos and I find them to be first class. They are professional, intruiging, j care about their fans. What I'm trying to say is I love them. I'm a fan forever.

👏👏👏 aplausos para Martín Gore, no es fácil reconocer que Alan Wilder era su mejor crítico, tuvieron que reinventar Depeche Mode atravez de lo que pasó con Song Faith and devotion
They've become a self indulgent parody of themselves over the last few decades and are now an A-Z of rock cliches from the foot up on monitor to the guitar player rocking out on the drum riser etc. They're playing at being a hard rock band, which is something they're most definitely not! It seems Alan Wilder's presence was the only thing holding them to their roots, the roots that made them unique and something which stood out sonically and visually from everything else around them. As for them finding another way which works for them, they're so well established now, I think people will lap up everything they produce, regardless of how good or bad it is. The fact they had to hire multiple musicians/arrangers/co-writers/programmers for subsequent albums showed how much of a hole Alan Wilder's departure left. I'm not a particular fan of Recoil and I'm not a fan of DM without Wilder. There was a special ingredient Wilder brought to the the band which has been sorely lacking since he went.
