I took the bus back to Switzerland and filmed more of the cute little town of Sargans. That's a separate video which you can watch here:

TRADE EMBARGO ON LIECHTENSTEIN
Hi Gabriel, Liechtenstein is a small country still using a monarchy system with old-world values much doesn't change. An interesting place and nice to browse around and see another country in a beautiful laid-out town.
Sounds like heaven.
@@jacksondrake-lost quite so
On September 28, 2023 I spent a day of my European vacation in Liechtenstein. Place was so clean, nice and smooth traffic. I'll be back in December for another vacation to Europe.
Wow, Cool. I visited Lichtenstein in 2016. I took a long daytrip from Zurich via Sargans.
Funny that San Marino is your last country. My last country in mainland Europe was San Marino, which I visited last summer. Very beautiful and peaceful place. A lot cheaper than Lichtenstein. I visited Russia in 2018, Saint Petersburg. Only have one country left in Europe, Iceland :)
San Marino is a really cool place. The castle views and cliffs are incredibly stunning. I was there during a very light rain that open up to sunlight as I reached the base of the castle. It was EPIC!
@@Originalman144 Agree. I stayed two nights there which was worth it. Some nice hikes to do too.
Nice to see Liechtenstein again, there was no construction when I visited but I still wasn't allowed into the castle. I think it's the actual home of the Prince!! I didn't mind too much but I think he did! Those hotel prices are crazy - it's an expensive area for sure! If you go back there's a cool wooden bridge that crosses the nearby river - in the centre of it is the border marking between Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
I wanted to see the bridge as it came up as one of the places to visit, but then I forgot about it. Next time maybe I'll spend a little more time there.
LIECHTENSTEIN is just a lazy rip off of Switzerland.
well, this is just a beautiful city, the shape of the building is beautiful, lots of trees and plants that look well cared for and the road construction is also good and beautiful
By the way Gabe in case you’re still in Sargans they have a castle there too. Climbed it many years ago and the views from the top are absolutely unreal overlooking the appenzel alps. You can even grab a beer as they have a small cafe at the top. Definitely recommend it if you haven’t done it already and if you’re still there!
Amazing how clean and orderly some of these cities are, compared to others. Beautiful place for sure!
Diversity is our strength.
@churchofbrap must be nice to have citizens who keep the place tidy in contrast to many other countries!
Thanks for sharing your trip. I enjoyed the tour a lot.
Great, glad to hear it.
Great to see you walk the same way up to the castle, so nice to re-experience that. I agree, it is really a beautiful valley. The castle was closed when I was there too, or at least not possible to enter. I turned around there and went down to the city center and then went for a walk there and also to the river with the swiss border. Then I took a bus up to Malbun. It was a great day, like yours.
You guys are lucky travelers indeed...
you dont have to feel sad, because you couldnt visit the castle. i think it is always closed, because the prince is still living inside and this is just his home. :P
He must be really annoyed by all the construction.
Excellent point you bring up.
Liechtenstein is up to something, I know it. No one can find them on a map and that's why they're so powerful. I bet that's where they're hiding the 5th Shrek Movie. I say we go to war with Liechtenstein, invade them, and liberate Shrek 5.
These types of environments are very beautiful and curious, has a way of stimulating the imagination.
Wow another country added to your list Gabriel 👏, I personally did not find Liechtenstein 🇱🇮 that exciting,
Yeah your right about Russia it could be risky vlogging there right now, but Moscow and St Petersburg are both amazing cities to visit!
You should visit Trieste in Italy, it's just 85km from Slovenia capital and it's a beautiful city
These small countries are all that's left of old Europe. Before the modern nation-states Europe was dotted with hundreds of tiny states, kingdoms, and principalities like Liechtenstein.
Monarchy system gets a bad rap from modernists, but as you can see they can work very well.
@@Botoburst Not this modern. I'm an American monarchist. lol. If it works...it works.
Liechtenstein looks like a lovely country, Gabriel. I would want to go back when the castle is restored. Looking forward to your trip to Austria 👍🙂
Very cool. Liechtenstein was for me a country occupying a space in my mind no bigger than a single word. Knew it was very small, and nothing else. Just a European anomaly. Seeing how beautiful it is really adds volume to one's appreciation. Thanks Gabriel!
The Mountain you saw is in Switzerland, Mount Säntis. The Valley is called “Rheintal” and is mostly Switzerland too. Only a very small part is Liechtenstein. A pity you did not go to Lake of Constanz (Bodensee) which is one one side Switzerland and on the other side Germany. Love your vlogs !
This country and San Marino are fascinating. I would definitely go to San Marino.
Finally you visit Liechtenstein 🇱🇮 I hope you’re enjoy your time out there.
For sure, it's a pretty place.
czcams.com/video/eZnuXlYfHDs/video.html
When I visit Vaduz the castle wasn’t in construction.
Great travels, beautiful view of the countryside... thanks for sharing your adventures...
Hi Gabriel, I really enjoyed this video, thank you! Everything looks so clean and pristine, maybe too pristine 😅 Loved the forest, the views and the vineyards too.
Shame you don't have much time left in the Schengen zone otherwise I would've suggested for you to come to explore South Bohemia and Moravia (parts of the Czech Republic). Šumava national park, Český Krumlov, České Budějovice, Budweiser brewery, castle Hluboká, Lednice castle, Holašovice village and the vineyards around Brno are very special. Maybe next time... 😊
Nice tour of Vaduz! The walkways with the vineyards reminds me of Luxembourg. Vaduz is such a tough place to get to as it is out of the way and maybe they like to keep it that way. San Marino for a similar day trip is very worth it! Frequent buses from Rimini train station. Rimini might be nice for a night or two in summer as it is a beach resort town. But you could be based in Bologna and go to San Marino for a day trip with an early start.
Beautiful visit!❤
what a beautiful country, Gabe!
Sure looks like a well kept and clean city and country. No graffiti
😊😊😊
Looks like you left Greece at the right time. Poor souls are having a terrible time. Enjoyed todays travels but so expensive. I think it always has been. When i was young i had a pen pal from Liechtenstein but we lost touch after a couple of years. thanks for sharing your interesting travels Gabrielle as always:)
In Austria I highly recommend staying in Mayrhofen and hiking to olpererhutte, and taking the lift to hintertuxer glacier. Also, Salzburg!!!! Such a beautiful city.
The high tatras in slovakia are beautiful too
Great video! The walk around the castle grounds was very cool.
Greetings from Liechtenstein :D
Perfect. Thank you for the Quality !!
Nice video again Gabriel !!!!
Awesome to see you going to Liechtenstein Gabe! Been there a couple of times myself. Went from Sargans as you did here on the bus and did a nice walk along the river Rhine not far from the football stadium and walked into the Swiss border from there. Some amazing views!
Very interesting place
Great video, well done and highly enjoyable. Best. 🙏
In western Hungary I recommend Sopron, it is on the border with Austria. Györ, Panonhalma, Balaton also worth visiting.
Thanks for the tips, I'll look into them.
Nice random walk through Vaduz. If you end up in Kufstein have a look at Hallstatt as a next destination, it is not so far from Kufstein. It's nice walking there. It's also one of the main places from which Celtic tribes and culture spread in all directions from it's center north of the Alps starting around 2800 years ago.
I have been to obertraun, Village near hallstat. It's an amazing scenery
Looks like a cute little country. Very serene. It reminds me of the settings in several of the Disney movies- or fairy tails- castle on the hill, town below.
Love the area, i have been there a few years ago.
I have been to Liechtenstein a few times. Exactly the same experience as you. Always felt there was more to see I hadn’t found. Glad to have made it there but just had that feeling of what have I missed that I should have seen but couldn’t find.
Enjoyed your video. Thanks.
I can just imagine quite a few people will be crossing the border into Austria to do their weekly grocery haul to save some money. I know the Swiss do this already for those that live on the border. It does make sense though.
I've been there.👍😊🇱🇮
Great Video!!!🍀💗🍀
Thank You!🍀
Hi Gabe, thank you for showing us beautiful places. Chaos
Thank you for your nice and informative video! Vaduz is a very clen and cosy town!
Long Live Liechtenstein !
Beautiful scenery I went there years ago unfortunately have not been back I remember you could buy a stamp for your passport in Vaduz not sure if u still can
Please check out Lake Balaton, Hungary
Nice video! Definitely a country I need to add to my list of places to visit! 👍
Always interesting country. I have the Liechtensteiner Polka song (Marianne&Michael version) all through my mind during this video as it was played all along the train ride in Vaduz when I was there like a decade ago. :)
you should create a google map with all the places and countries you've visited
I agree.
You've come a long way, man. I remember when you had to stay at hostels and eat granola. Now you're staying in Switzerland. 🇨🇭 It's probably one of the most expensive destinations in the world. 🌎 I'm still getting over the price of that cheese burger in Zermatt for $27 USD. Ouch!
Wait until he goes to Norway! 😂
@@ivonahofman8457 Good point!
Not too expensive. Normal price of a burger and a coke, NOT in Mcdonalds anywhere in Europe is around 15 euros. In dollars that amounts to 18 or 20 dollars. So you are complaining for 7 or 9 dollars overprice, I've had beers that cost that.
We visited St Petersburgh Russia years ago it is a beautiful city .Saw Bald's video when he got out of Jail he is banned from Russia now..........anyways your video of today was fantastic Gabe
You need to come to Austria. Salzburg is my favorite. Also go to Saint Wolfgang. It is beautiful.
I passed through that country on a train. But didn't stop though
Would defently recommand the Grossgklockner Mountain when u are in Austria! ❤
Nice Video!
Super 👍👍👍
Gabriel you should consider the city of Graz when visiting Austria. It is a beautiful preserved old city which was not bombed during the war because it was not considered important. Graz is a 12th century town an UNESCO's World Heritage Site. The author Leopold von Sacher-Masoch whose name masochism was derived due to this writings, attended the University of Graz. Masochism was coined by his contemporary, the Austrian psychiatrist Richard von Krafft-Ebing. In Graz, there are beautiful castles and other extraordinary sites to visit. A must see is the glass bridge created by the late New York artist Vito Acconci.
I've been there, didn't do a full tour though: czcams.com/video/m7nLIDGsCNg/video.html
Poprad is apparently good in Slovakia. Its a town close to the High Tatra mountains.
Right on, thanks for the tip.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos , as Austria is my second mostly visited foreign country (after Croatia) and I live only 15 kms away from its border, I can make some recommendations for you in both possibilities (either going to Slovenia or Slovakia) after Kufstein (or Innsbruck):
1. If going to Slovenia: Kitzbühel with the most famous downhill ski piste in the world (Streif, for race Hahnenkamm) is not far away from Kufstein. From there, you can reach the High Tauern national park where Alps are central and more igneous (magmatic), black. There are spectacular Krimml Waterfalls (total height of 380 metres, the highest in Austria) with nice hiking trail alongside them, lake town Zell am See and after that the most spectacular Austrian road, the Grossglockner High Alpine road (with really amazing views from Franz-Josefs-Höhe and Edelweissspitze) with going to the town of Lienz where there are similar rock formations than in Dolomites as there are so called Lienzer Dolomiten (Gailtal Alps). From Lienz, it is not far to Slovenia.
2. If going to Slovakia: as you have been in Austria only in Vienna and went in the direction of Graz (as I can remember), there is another gem of city in Salzburg, the Mozart town where there are also Mozartkugel (Mozart balls) as confection. Maybe you can see Mozart's birthplace and some of Salzburg Festival (Salzburger Festspiele) as Salzburg is the Austrian culture capital along with Vienna and the film The Sound of Music was filmed there and in surroundings. As for surroundings, the Salzkammergut lake region is very good and has good connections with Salzburg, especially the tourist gems Hallstatt and St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut (with Schafbergbahn, seeing 4 lakes from the viewing point). Hallstatt Lake is a fjord-like lake and there are nice viewing points to it above Hallstatt. After Salzkammergut, it must go in the direction of Linz, Vienna and Bratislava to reach Slovakia.
Either way, have a nice time, these are both very good directions.
I've been there. Poprad, Strbske Pleso and Tatra mountains are really beautiful!!!
@@ivonahofman8457 well thats a tip here for Gabriel.
I can recommend to visit slovakia, specially the high tatra region and the border region to poland, i liked it very much (beautiful landscape).
Salzburg is a cool town. I went white water rafting there, you should give it a go.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High. . . . . . . . . . Dude, tell me you've already seen the movie, but you're just gonna watch it again!!
Honestly, I'm not sure. Maybe saw it in the '80s when I was a teenager but can't remember, which is why it's on the list.
nice vid :)
Rheinberger (music composer) was from Liechtenstein!
Good morning from Arizona. 5 AM 98 degrees

Andorra ?
Andorra is a principality, and you've been there too!
Yes, it's larger than Liechtenstein.
Strongly suggest that you don’t go to Russia, mainly for your own safety. Even when Putin goes, I think travelling as an American there, could be risky!
I can’t believe you’ve never seen pulp fiction or fast times at ridge mount high!
Thx for this very informative video. Planning to visit it plus 9 more European countries in Sept 2024. My goal is to visit 100 countries by Spring 2025. Happy travels!
any plans of italy? or more specifically the Dolomites (again)? I'd also recommend Meran - close to Bozen, beautiful spa town famous for being a favorite of many writers (amongst them Kafka and Ezra Pound). And hundreds of hikes in that area.
I love how you document your travel history. I do the same in a small moleskin notebook (I also include UNESCO World Heritage Sites and inspirational travel quotes). I was wondering how do you keep track and avoid double counting?
Looks like a beautiful, white, high-trust, low (zero) crime society.
This is what we used to have.
Does your phone support E-SIMs? If you run out of data check them out, super easy to use and costs about $3 a GB in most places
Hi Gabriel, love your videos. I'm pretty sure I've been one of your subscribers from the early years. At the end of your videos most of the time it's you grabbing a bite to eat while editing. My question is what program do you use to edit your videos? Oh yeah I'm from the bay area. I use to go to blondies on telegraph to lol.
Ha, that's cool you've been to Blondie's. I edit with Videopad, recommend it, pretty cheap and it does the job, been using it for a decade now to edit all my videos. Thanks for watching. ✌️
Davinci resolve is free.
About the 3 month in Schengen zone, isn't there any option to get an extension?
I don't think there's an extension option, other than getting some sort of visa which I'm sure is difficult and complicating.
Gabriel, what about the Eagles Nest in Berchtesgaden, it is history but maybe this might be to controversial for some of your listeners, not sure.
Hi Gabriel, When are you coming to Jersey?
Nice video Gabe, looks like the rain finally caught up with you. Send some to Greece with all these bushfires here we really need it. Safe travels mate. 😃👍. Well I don’t know Gabriel, you making a video inside a Russian Goulag (prison camp) might be a winner lol. 😂
I'll do what I can. Sad to see the fires are out of control there, like so many places right now unfortunately.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Hopefully everyone is safe, property can be rebuilt. Be safe on your travels. 👍
Hey I have T-Mobile too! how is the service in Western Europe? Does it pick up local providers or does one need a SIM card?
It works everywhere, I've never had to get another sim card in my life. You might need to add an international plan, but maybe not. I have one but it might not be necessary for shorter visits.
You haven't been to Azerbaijan, right? Its partially in Europe by some definitions, and is an independent country. Full of amazing places to visit throughout the country, the area around Baku alone is well worth a week of exploring. You can visit by applying online for e-visa, basically an electronic travel authorisation (similar to the one that Europeans need when visiting the US and Canada), it takes up to 3 days to be approved, but usually within 24 hours. Due to still (!) active covid regulations, you need to arrive by flight as the land borders are closed, but this is as far as I know the only regulation and it seems they keep it to get money for their national airline. Highly recommended, you would probably love it there!
Haven't been there yet but it's on the list to consider, we'll see if I go this summer.
Question for you? What happens if you get sick on the road?
Visit Azerbaijan mister Gabriel you will love it also apply for visa to visit Iran very nice country aswell.
Now Iran is a very intriguing destination.
However, it is eneny N 3 for the US.
@@xristinaxristina766 leave political things behind many CZcamsrs are going there and making videos and not a problem at all.
Gabe, Congratulations on your 88th country! 12 to go for a milestone :)
I know it is not your style of travelling, but do you have a number in mind of how many countries you would want to visit? Just curious to know.
How many countries are there in the world?
@@ivonahofman8457 193
195 is another number that I see on Google, 193 UN members States and 2 non member states: Holy see and Palestine.
You can come in Romania (very beautiful country), is not in Schengen (Unfortunately😢😢)
I'm thinking of going there again. I was there before in the winter.

❤❤❤❤❤
When you count the countries you’ve been to, do you count a country that you’re just in the airport for a layover? Because I’ve been to a handful of countries for layovers, but don’t count them as “visited,” even though I’m technically in the country.
No, I don't count a layover in an airport. I have to technically enter the country by going through customs, or else in the case of Europe land borders just cross over the border. But only crossing the border doesn't count for me, I have to actually visit the country and do something there, even if it's just for a couple hours.
Jeffrey - You should count the country that you are on the ground in, IMO. Overflights on the other hand are verboten.
Please publish your countries visited electronically (somehow;) and with dates. Perhaps giving you some work to do over a beer .....thanks :)
Gabe, Bald trekked for 2 days over the steppe of Kazakhstan to reach an old abandoned cosmodrome and broke in but got caught! Yes he was deported and banned from re-entering Russia. However the whole thing seemed a bit of a set up! Of course traveling to Russia is not advisable at the moment but you are adding 2 and 2 and getting 5!
Yes using bald and bankrupt to allude that russia jails anyone who doesn't toe the line is obvious propaganda. Id like to see Gabriel visit he probably doesn't want to because hes aware everyone is supposed to hate an entire country of people now because they said to. Dont ask questions gabe
Gabe can go to to Russia is he does not claim to be a UkroNazi.. Ukraine started the war (November 24th 2013). Then Ukraine invaded the Donbas (2014) before Russia ever arrived. Ukraine did this to ethnic cleanse its own people with Kyiv - government backed, neo-nazis (Azov). Just say the truth and then you can go to Russia!
❤❤❤
Since you were born in Canada, I guess you can travel on either a Canadian OR US passport?
Does Liechtenstein means "Lightstone" or "Stone of Light" maybe ?
How to do to get there ? 🌻
What happens if you go over the 90 days in shengen countries?
You hope that nobody notices when you leave. If they do it can be a fine and possibly banned from entering, depending on how long you overstayed and other factors.
