I BOUGHT AN OLD BMW 635D TWIN TURBO!
Vložit
- čas přidán 12. 04. 2022
- BMW 635D M57 Twin Turbo Diesel engine which is great for the current fuel prices and fuel crisis if you want performance, luxury, great economy at good value. The BMW 6 series came as a coupe and a convertible known as the E63 and E64 chassis numbers. The 635D was the only diesel available here in the UK but it did come with several petrol engine options such as the popular 3.0 NA straight 6 engine and the famous NA V10 in the BMW M6.

Absolutely Beast!! Pulls like a train! 💨
This car is now sold! I’ve got another big fat guzzling beast coming in a video on Sunday so make sure you’re subscribed 🔥
Calvin I’ve got a newer 6 series gran coupe but individual one that was ordered to spec , Truly amazing spec, Hud , soft close doors etc etc , low mileage and pretty unique car /colour combo , please contact me regarding px, kind regards James
I’m the proud new owner of this car, just waiting for the log book with the original plate so I can put my private plates on
@@Eric-qf5dn I'm jealous, this was one of the few CCD videos where I've been tempted to do the 5 minute drive down to Binca and enquire about buying haha.
It had blue smoke coming from exhaust 🥴 when you put your foot down
@@jamesgreen5899 love it all the same lol
The m57 engine with the bi turbo is a nuclear weapon on wheels. I’ve owned a stage 2 335d for 3 years now and it’s just goes and goes and goes
got a e92 335d and a e92 petrol 335i ,that m57 with two turbos is no joke
im getting 340hp and 680Nm on the diesel and around 361hp and 490nm on the n54 ,love both even with all the common issues
@@-GA-MancsFinestwhich one is faster 335d or 335i?
@@k-9k-97 335i is technically faster because it revs higher. Also has a lot more support for mods but even stock for stock the 335i is a faster car than the 335d.
That said the 335d might feel a bit more peppy down low because it does make more torque...feels like it has shorter gearing though which is a bit anticlimactic.
I’m the proud new owner of this particular car, waiting for the logbook with original registration so I can put my private plates on.
how much you paid for if you don't mind
@@tibi3476 that's just rude and it's easy enough to do your own research
I have a 2010 facelift E64 635d….absolutely love it😎
Congrats!!
Stage 1 tune👌
I’ve always been a big advocate of this generation bmw straight 6 diesel/petrol.
They have so much tourque you never need to Rev them on the motorway. Hence really good mpg, little engines have no tourque and you have to ring them out. Therefore ruining your economy
I’ve got a e64 635d owns it for 4 years and still love it the only thing I’ve paid for is the tyres the engine is bullet proof and like you say they are a very fast car can’t find nothing to replace it stunning👌👌
I have 640d and for 4 years I only serviced it. Maped from the begging of my ownership and it still runs like a dream
I got a e63 m6 amazing v10 sound 🔥
Ive been driving a vxr for nearly 2 years but work at a car dealership as a vehicle merchendiser and have driven over 15000 cars in 9 months time, love driving 640, driven all kinds of cars (Bentley,Porsche,m1,m2,m4,s1,s2,s3 , S classes etc) find it - alot of it is preference.
@@YordanHristooov you didn't service a 6er for 4 years? Ti normalen li si
@@topsunnn like i said in my comment i did only servicing :D can you read ?
I’ve got the same car on 2010 I’ll never part with it. Well unless it dies but it’s on 140000 miles now and still drives like 60000 mile car truly amazing also got a stage 1 map 😊
The BMW 640d is an absolute animal. 313bhp standard and easily tuneable with just a map to 400bhp. Standard they do 0-60 in under 5 seconds, and tuned can do it in low 4’s. And you get 50mpg on a run if you’re careful (which I’m not). As a daily driver for someone who wants a good bit of poke, I would struggle to find anything better as an all rounder.
Had an E63 650i with straight pipes and manual box. Miss that car, it effortlessly crossed France with ease.
For me there is a real nice sweet spot of cars that came from around 2007-12 ish. Nicely modern and fairly easy to work on still and also benefited from some pretty tasty engines.
My 2008 mk2 TT with the 3.2 v6 would happily agree. Such a dream engine.
Exactly
I was never a fan of diesel engines until I got a 640d, it's fantastic. The torque is awesome and on a run I can get nearly 50 mpg
old is gold ✨️
Man I wish I could afford the 635 CSI , those are such sick looking cars , one of the most handsome BMW's in my opinion.
I paid just over 7k for my 635d on 100k miles in absolutely mint condition and I'm obsessed with it, awesome car, originally I was after a 335d but the prices are sky high for them but luckily I stumbled on these and I've never looked back
In Europe (France) the cheapest 635D now is around 12k€ with high mileage 😔 really surprised how cheap the cars in UK
Have 14 year old 635d E64 owned for many years. Superb build quality and an absolute classic.
Picking mine up Friday, can't wait.
The 640d gran coupe is such an awesome car aswell
This is a good video, full of correct info
Top job.
Great cars. I’m on my second one after trying the 640d for a year went back to this one.
what's wrong with the 640?
Nicely designed... Personal plate & it still looks modern. Beautiful design. M6 is outrageous:-)
Absolutely love this channel 🙌🏻
Best looking car even today
Im on a journey with my 650i on my channel! Happy to see the E63 shape on your channel 😁
@Zaman Khan Thanks man!
Always nice to see the other 35d variants in your videos man, You're welcome to test drive my 335d touring (I know you love a touring😉) and hear how she sounds too. She's no V8 but has a lovely sound overall with my modified exhaust system!
Calv, I am 22 and I got my self a low mileage high spec ex bmw demo 325d. But it’s 2011 so it uses the n57 single turbo, same engine as the 330 but just de tuned so it’s even cheaper on insurance, but just off a stage 1 map you get the 330d engine, and then the 335 were the twin turbo. If you can justify buying a big diesel turbo German car that has good history, it’s a no brainer! For any ages. Love the purchase.
Hybrid turbo and a Wagner tuning intercooler sees 400bhp. Keeps up with the M6 and runs at 30mpg. I love this car and it’s bullet proof
you can go 500hp easy ...with hybrid turbo ....probably better fuel system
The I Drive system is so easy to use, very clear with loads of functions and information
Nice cars them 💚brings back memories of your m6 loved that car and colour
I just traded my old 2004 645ci V8 petrol. I miss it, they’re such a good car.
Only thing petrol e63 has over this is amazing exhaust sound !
A 2007 bmw is a new modern car for me. Most people do not drive around in new 40k bmw's.
I have a 2011 e93 330d and it’s an incredible engine! It’s smooth and sounds great (for a diesel). Even with the roof down you can barely hear the engine when cruising. BMWs 6 cylinder engine is a masterpiece no matter what fuel powers it.
Must be remapped, my mate had nearly the exact same car being 635d in the grey and felt quick but wasn't as rapid as it looked in this vid.
Had an e60 lci 535d m sport running 380 and 800nm with all deletes and xhp stage 3 gearbox map. Very capable all rounder and very quick once rolling. Burnouts and one wheel peels for days haha. That engine won Diesel engine of the year twice I think. You can get them to 450 pretty easily too, go on Calvin you know you want another project haha
I had the 530d version of this car, and apparently a pro of the wipers was that you only have one wiper crossing your line of sight and it doesn't wait around stationary in your line of sight!! 🤷🏻♂️
i have the same one awesome review.
Your like a kid in a sweet shop lol. Great car and enjoy your enthusiasm
Dream car back in the day 🤩
His dad's motor was unbelievable beautiful car
I've got a 2007 e83 x3 with same twin turbo m57 engine, 4 wheel drive really helps get the power down in the wet. Dpf is off it, engine remapped and so is gearbox gets a 0-60mph in 5 sec on dragy even with all terrain tyres, good old bus and a funny comfy sleeper 😂
Good looking car saw one today in a midnight blue colour with a beautiful exhaust on it. Looks like it was taken good care of ❤️.
was that in oxford?.....i saw a midnight blue one with black pipes in oxford, it was MINT!......you dont really see then.
@@adrianbrown3086 no but sounds exactly like the one I saw
Had a 58 plate 635d before- few issues I had, DPF kept getting clogged up. And when timing chain also broke whilst driving at 70mph. Car was fully serviced yearly at dealer. I spent 3k getting engine rebuilt by independent specialist then sold it. BMW weren’t interested in covering damage and were asking for 10k new engine. Apart from this such a nice drive!
Did you ever have the ash cleaned out? If it's clogging up regularly and you're doing plenty of long journeys it could have been that. You can get someone to do it all for you for around £400
Love these cars, I have a 645ci parked in my drive way right now. Too bad we never got the diesel on South Africa
I retained this plate .... to make a few more quid 😆 🤣 😂 😹
Could you do a video on the Vauxhall VXR8? Only just found out about them omg they sound insane
I've got this gen 6 series 4.8 straight piped. Sounds mental
Absolutely love these 3ltr Bmw diesels. Had a 330d couldn’t believe how quick it was and how cheap to run. But as you say the only downside is the sound
nice m57d my dad had a 535d e61 we only did a stage 1 tune and we after had a 530d e60 we did a stage 2 it had 2step and recently we had a f10 530d also a stage 1 tune with a downpipe
I bet the M6 versions of these are absolute chaos 🚗 💨
That M6 and M5 must be the most unreliable BMW engine ever made.
@@sinenomine4540 what’s that got to do with the driveability
@@sinenomine4540 not quite, if maintained well they work well, have had an m6 2yrs with no problems and dads had an m5 since 2015 with very minor issues like injectors and coil pack lol
@@septacemic1537 same here been dead reliable other than maintenance
calm down archie.
Calvin, surely a M340D touring is your ideal car, BMW, fast, economic and with the Msport carbon splitter, skirts etc looks great
I've had both an e90 335d and a e60 535d and they are amazing cars, miss that power delivery alot tbh, would love a 635d
This car has defo aged well, looks the business too.
Look into the d5 Alpina calv, basically a comfortable M car version of a 530d
amazing pulled like a train😁
Loved this generation of BMWs, especially the E60 535d (same engine as in this 6 series)
If you are after a nice diesel daily Calv, I might be selling my F10 530D fully loaded low miles
love them diesels had stage 2 vectra 250bhp Audi A6 2,5 tdi Quattro 240bhp now i have Bmw 120d 240 bhp stage 1 them diesels are constant torque and fun + economy
I had a 335d F30 and it was a torque monster, when tuned they are blooming quick low 4's in the 0-60, but you dont get the same sense of speed as you do with an M car. Also the handling is just not as sharp as an M car, Loved mine.
Beautiful car
What a car 🔥
Cav, you need to breath more, mate, I need another beer, to calm my hart. 635, is an awesome car.
Such great viewing pleasures!, that your videos bring, along with a smile as well. Have you ever thought of doing a trade up with a viewer?, take their car and trade up a couple of times to a decent car?, start with mine.
Smart that 635D future classic maybe
*A big fat german car the beginning of this made me chuckle* 🤣
What's good bruh stay blessed Calvin
I just bought a 435d m sport xdrive and it's absolutely flying for a diesel 0 - 60 says 4.7 I've had 4.3 rocket untuned aswell. F32 model
Love the big beemer diesels
Get a 640d it's the best all rounder! You won't regret it, trust me! I've put mine through it's paces
love it
Got the same engine in my 2011 3 series touring the torques addictive🤣
Hi. Can you retain the plate whilst logbook being on trades? I ask because I want to keep the plate but don't want to add another owner to the logbook
calv you should get in a e60 535d seats are like a sofa and for a big meaty car again shifts like a rocket! such a comfy car
These diesel are so underrated but perform excellent Bmw diesel all the way!
This deserves to be a proper daily that you can tune 😁
Only 6 grand!!??? What? What an absolute bargain!
Ayyyy love my 635d 💪
Also the auto mirrors means they are automatic dimming
I think this has had a dpf delete and a map, definitely looked quick
What app do you use to do the hpi and spec check?
Had an almost identical V8 version a few years ago, but sold it about 2 years ago and regretted it. Looks the exact colour as mine, which was "Silbergrau Metallic". Incidentally, I then bought a 2007 E61 535d which was absolutely colossal (had some modifications), so the mixture of that engine in the 6 series body would be awesome 👌🏼😍😍
Ive just sold my 645ci aswell. Miss it
Keep your eyes on the road madness
Hefty car
As trade, how do you retain the plate? or do you register the car in your name first?
About your neck. I had the same sort of pain on the day of my driving test, had to go through the pain barrier to check my blind spots 🙈 The examiner gave me no mercy as I had to park up on the left four times and he chose to give me parallel parking too 😓
Was that Jag corner there? :)
Ya 635d good on diesel and good power and very comfortable
Definitely get a diesel, would make some great content. The 35d Is so tunable
Wiper are that way because in Germany they drive opposite side....they didn't have room in engine bay to switch wiper system for right hand drive
Calvin mate aka Colin, 840d for you my mate 💯 onit
Definitely stage 1
LCI too nice bit of kit
I think it’s time you invested in your own petrol pump Calvin. 😁👍🏽👍🏽
🤣
Do some exhaust mods
Was looking at these as well as an FN2 type r, but I’m going with the Honda
Type R will be more fun to drive and not feel so heavy on the road, it'll drink more fuel for sure though.
@J Scott Honda are reliable that's for sure. Safe cars too. Volvo of Japan.
@@S.ASmith 33 in town which isn't too bad
Lol that's funny a private plate is a major plus for me when buying a car.
Since some traders take them off and sell them imma take mines off when I trade her in 🤣
I want one
proud iwner of 2 e24s :D
Bro try get a volvo 850 t5r yellow estate. Definitely 1 of the best car of the 90s
May or may not be mapped. Should be on a par with the 2014 330d. Was fractionally quicker. These were quick cars out of the box in the day.
I have a 2017 650i I live in the US don't see many diesel BMW or Mercades here for some reason my brother has a diesel Mercades
I had a 2014 330d 50-100mph very little that would keep up with it
Had an e63 630i, now replaced with an f13 640d. Beautiful cars, humongously big though! And rare! Nobody seems to care for big coupes anymore. Which means....these things can be a bargain buy! Not cheap to run though. Prepare your wallet...
You need a audi a6 c7 bitdi Calvin 👌
