People are super weird bringing up aim assist in this. PC looks like an entirely different game due to accuracy/range of motion compared to controller. There is no console version of a player like Necros for instance. Controller movement is a lot clunkier and also aim assist isn't nearly as good as mfs are saying.
Mfs never know what they talking about. We can control a joystick with our thumbs. Mfs can shift their whole body,arm,and wrist to aim on a more precise and easier to use mouse. Pc player saying aim assist is literally aim bot has never used a controller in their life. Imagine playing ow with a trackball or trackpad. It’s difficult as hell. Aim assist is to help an already disadvantaged system.

Exactly. You can't even AD strafe on controller whatsoever. On PC it's easy and is used even at lower ranks. Movement techs are much more reliable and scalable on PC vs console.

Aim assist ruins competitive integrity. It shouldn't really exist in a competitive level at the very least. On PC if I needed to add.

I like watching all the people in the comments boil it down to aim assist being the difference maker here, and complaining about it. They’re against top PC players, who have the superior specs and who have the mechanical advantage of range of motion with their aim. All pro competitions are on PC. There’s not a world where aim assist is the key difference between these team. Aim assist is not aim bot, they just got beat 🤷♂️. There’s no shame in that, the console team just had better coordination and team play.
I’m masters 4 on Xbox i turned off my aim assist for a week and i cannot play the game it might be skill issue but if you understood how hard it is to even just aim on controller good for you

That's one of the best console gaming teams out there, against some players that haven't even warmed up yet, of course the console team is going to win that. Although I would like to see it without aim assist

Lol they are not top players. Jay is a streamer that played contenders 6 years ago. They did get beat, but this was some streamer and friends thrown together vs a team that scrims for hours in their spare time. Just listen to the comms

They're not used to seeing aim assist in kill cams, because it's not in their games. Discrete hacks are pretty close to aim assist, which is what is in their games.

Thing i hate about console is a delay with joysticks, like i don't know if it's deadzone but when u flick with the mouse it moves with ur flick but controller it doesn't move and if it does it doesn't move all the way when u flick your movement

I feel like a lot of people arguing about the input controls don't have enough experience on both. I grew up playing on xbox and played the vast majority of ow1 on xbox where I hit t500 on rein. A lot of console players have the mentality that switching to PC would be a cakewalk because of the inherit aim advantages. But the experience I got when switching was the opposite. True you have so much more freedom and ability to become accurate, but that is all on you to become accurate and the initial switch off of aim assist is very noticeable. It truly is an issue how much reliance there is on aim assist for consoles, but obviously they need it to compensate (still removes competitive integrity though). I never had the experience to switch from PC to console but the skill there is just fine tuning your thumbs and being sensitive with your aim (which for me isn't hard but it's most likely bias). The biggest issue though is ximming on console which is literally aimbot

FYI xim and zen have little to no effect on overwatch soft aim script are way to detectable and shaky, and ximming for KBM on console doesn’t work cause it locks up and chucks out

As a console player who’s never played on a PC for any game except OW a few times at a friend’s, OW is a lot better on MnK. It’s so much more fluid and aiming is much easier. Also OW aim assist isn’t as strong as COD. There’s a reason pro OW is PC, the game just plays better as a whole tbh, aiming aside. That said I still prefer gaming on a console. Sitting on the couch gaming > hunched over a monitor (lol). Now if they just ban ximming maybe I can hit GM instead of being hardstuck masters lol

of all the games overwatch its the only one where controller players/console shouldn't even be called out by the aim assist, especially because you can't play controller on pc so isn't even just a difference between reaction times you get on mnk with nowadays heroes that can 1, 2 shot like ashe, widow, kiriko, but also because you don't have fov options, lower graphics and 240hz, default input ms lower than 8.333ms, extra keybinds without having to unbind everything. and not to mention how took 8 years for the devs to add us the dead zone option because we couldn't even aim precisely far enemies, strafe walk.

there are plenty of top 500 pc players on the ladder who wouldve performed significantly better whilst also taking the challenge seriously (playing the game and comming instead of fucking around teasing eachother)

Dont think of it as aim assist, think of it as aim softening. It lowers the actual sensitivity to the crosshair when it gets close enough to a target. There is a small amount of 'follow' also occurs but that usually results in missing when it follows a different target you werent aiming for. This follow is to help keep up with high speed movement that might overwhelm the softening aspect.
What its mainly doing, in a well tuned system anyway, is letting you use more of your joystick for finer aiming. Otherwise youd have to exclusively use incredibly small hard to control movements. Its a quality of life feature that has been engrained in console gaming for decades.
Every game has different assist. Dont be a moronic pc user that just says assist is aimbot. You look stupid to anyone that knows the game you are talking about.

You are also ignoring the problems that come with aim assist and its programming as well. The point of aim assist is to change the scale of sensitivity of the controller once you are aiming at a target because you only use a small amount of muscles in order to aim on controller. If you want to have an actual discussion on the subject matter you can but you aren't doing anything by acting like that.

Then you'd need a PC group that also is a 5 man stack and scrim together hours at a time. Coordination was the big thing. Jay3 and friends have no actual plays. They play like solo queue people and it shows. Its why almost every top500 streamer, unless they were on a pro team before, say they would get stomped in OWL. Coordination, set plays, team comps are all practiced for hours and hours and hours.
@erickim1739 yeah I think doing that and then maybe a ranked series would be interesting. Like random bronze, silver, etc. It would interesting to see what ranks it's a benefit vs hindrance. Also yeah like a top team who practices together. Just tired of people saying aim assist doesn't matter and on the other side saying they went gm on console but are bronze on pc. If it hasn't been tested all the anecdotes are just pissing matches. I personally feel it's strong but let's get a real answer.

The only way aim assist would be an advantage here is if any of those console players were using Xim along with it, which most console players consider cheating. Otherwise it’s not nearly as good as any of the pc players would have you believe.

Console didn’t win because of aim assist. A lot of Pc players are so used to blaming aim assist they stay complacent in terms of their gameplay, controller players know they’re at a disadvantage so practice a lot to surpass their limitations. Loads of pc players just act like there’s nothing they can do, as if it’s unfair. As a pc player you should know that mid/long range is most effective for you so pushing close to a console tracer for example is your own fault for real.
