      Paul McCartney has said in interviews that they were on good terms before John's death. Unfortunately it was John and George who ended up not getting on with each other due to comments made by George in his autobiography I, Me, Mine.

    In 1974, with Yoko away, they were about to be close friends again. John was more relaxed, and they immediatly tried to make music together again. "A toot and a snore" jam session wasn't their best shot, even with Stevie Wonder in the cast, but at least they were trying and even in the pictures you coud feel a kind of peaceful mood. After that, it is known that John was keen to join Paul for some dates and concerts but with Yoko back, he suddenly refused.
    For me it's quite evident that, like in our every day mere mortels life, some women or let's say partners can isolate you from a more social life to selfishly keep you as close as possible..

    • @Blinki18284
      @Blinki18284 Před 24 dny +4

      Well, John was a full grown man. He could have decided otherwise. But he didn't. And it's a shame. His home recordings about "mighty McCartney" suggest, he was kind of jealous and regretted his decision to leave the music business behind.

    • @zaziou711

      @@Blinki18284 Not many full grown men can escape being trapped by someone toxic. Besides John was an insecure little boy inside, just watch his face when he learns of Brian Epstein's death. Yoko is the kind of girl ,devoid of talent but who can recognize that failure at first glance when she meets someone and rush into this gap. I knew many people like this. And there's a kind of pattern, they're mostly talentless and of course into modern art, throwing randomly paint on a wall or shouting in a mic, wanting a share of their partner's real talent. You're right about John's jealousy, but it was more like a challenge with Paul, like two brothers. That's why he got back to music when he heard Paul's new song in a cab and shouted "fuck a pig, It's Paul".

    • @Blinki18284

      @@zaziou711 I don't know, man. Maybe it's time to grow up and finally take responsability. Most of the men could, but they are afraid of it. Two different things. And John himself mastered the art of not taking responsability, Julian's life is the best example for it. And maybe we should take art for what it is: A question of personal taste. It might not be your taste, but Yoko was and is an important performance artist herself and shaped art history with some of her pieces (Cut piece, Grapefruit Book, Bagism). And her art had a massive impact on John's songwriting process.

    Jack Douglas, who was Lennon's producer on his last album Double Fantasy in Summer 1980 and was working with him again in December 1980 when he was killed, has stated that he was aware of at least one meeting between Lennon and McCartney in 1980, and it was a working meeting- they were writing together. He went on to say that another writing session had been scheduled, but then when McCartney showed up he was told Lennon wasn't around and was sent away by Yoko. In turn Lennon was told that McCartney had never shown up.
    There's deliberate obfuscation about the entire late70s timeline of Lennon/McCartney contact.
    May Pang, who was living in a separate NYC apartment with Lennon has said that Paul was a very frequent guest in 1974.
    And that story about Saturday Night Live in April 1976 is a whole cloth lie Lennon said because it sounded good and McCartney backed because Lennon said it- McCartney was actually prepping a concert in Texas that night.
    When asked directly: when was the last date that you saw Lennon in person? McCartney answers “I don't remember”. I’d judge this one of the things he intends to guard his privacy to the grave on, and we're never going to know unless Lennon's diaries get published.

    Got less than zero respect for john ..he was egotistical beyond his intellect, treated paul terribly and thumbed his nose at everyone and used his dimwiited wife to insult the world of music and his bandmates..he refused to list McCartney songs as McCartney/lennon so it seemed as though lennon was the writer..read the book "A Spaniard In The Works" by Lennon and youll find out ...dude was lame.

    John and Yoko absolutely loved McCartney’s post - Beatles music and often sang his songs. Listen to Lennon sings ‘Ram’ and ‘ Band On The Run’ by Stevie Riks. As Lennon once said nothing is real😀

      That Ram recording is a fake! For starters the recording sounds so far off Lennon’s Scouse accent it is laughable! Also the tape is supposed to be from Neil Aspinall. Thus it was recorded at Lennon 31st birthday party - it is well documented the songs that were sung and only one was from Ram (Admiral Halsey/ Uncle Albert).

      @@dannyvine3605 Danny, that’s what is so hilarious. It’s so obvious from the outset that it’s fake. It’s just Stevie Riks having a laugh..Some daft people then started to believe it was actually John , with Yoko in the background, singing McCartney songs. Come on, John and Yoko actually singing ‘ Too Many People ‘, which Lennon considered to be a real dig at him. I don’t even think Yoko would be able to sing along to many Beatles’ songs.. It’s a strange world😂
