Dominican Sisters Attract Young Women to Life of Service

- Over the last few decades, the Roman Catholic Church in America has struggled to fill the ranks of its clergy. The average age of the church's serving priests and nuns is 70 and rising. But some Catholic orders in the United States are successfully attracting new members or postulants. Reporter Mike Osborne visited an order of Dominican sisters in the southern state of Tennessee where nearly a third of the sisters are under 30 years of age.
Our daughter is currently discerning a call to Religious life and will be spending time with this congregation soon. God bless all Religious in their service to Christ’s Holy Bride the Church!

Father God! If you read the bible Mary would have married Joseph and had more children after Jesus as there is reference to Jesus brothers, Mary had to get a revelation of Jesus being the son of God who died and rose from the dead like everyone else. Though I see the sisters devotion and love for God-no judgement or criticism I've enjoyed learning about their order, the doctrine of Mary is incorrect theology. It says worship God and serve Him only, Jesus is the way the truth and life not Mary. Mary is one of the added false doctrines to catholic religion.

They ae not 'identical' at all to muslim women. Catholic nuns choose to enter religious life; the call to this life is in fact based on their own personal private choice. - quite the opposite of how muslim women are forced to live. .. God bless these Sisters ! , and thanks for making the choice to serve the Catholic Church!

I was taught by these strong women all my academic career, from kindergarten through graduate school. I remain friends with most of them. It has made me a more caring Advanced Practice Nurse! Thanks Sisters ❤

I am 64 yrs old male. If I was in my teens again I would gladly go for priesthood. Being a Catholic and having met alot sisters and priests I realise that you can find joy in the service of the Catholic church. Regretfully I only managed to give two years as a layman with my wife in the catholic Family Life Apostolate. Then maybe God did not want me to be a priest. Will know when I get to heaven.

I hope Melinda Gates will build.aniother block of residence for these ladies and another building as a retreat centre with a small lecture room and break out rooms so sisters can do retreats for youth and families.

I think that The Catholic Church has overlooked some possibilities for bringing more women into the convent. They should have some "evening shift" nuns. Getting up at 5:00 every morning just isn't everyone's cup of tea!!

These nuns are clean unlike muslims
“mohammadan males” abt 3 decades compelled mohammadan women to wear the burqas besides copying the Rosary beads etc. We Catholics are pioneers in piety and modesty..although the rebellious are disobedient.
you should watch some videos of David Wood and see how 'identical' the two religions are.
