as a matter of fact, this band was definitely not a one hit wonder. some of their hits include - fire and water - be my friend - catch a train - my brother jake - mr. big - wishing well - heartbreaker - ride a pony. and even songs that weren't hits were amazing too, like - moonshine. this band was really special. when this song came out, the oldest person in the band was 20, just think about that for a second. so by the time paul rodgers formed bad company, he was writing some of the all time rock classics. bad company didn't have a bad song, let alone a bad album in the 70's. their still considered one of the greatest bands of all time.

Free were great, one of my favourite bands. Sadly Free broke up (for the second and final time) in 1973. Guitarist Paul Kossoff died aged just 25 in 1976. Bassist Andy Fraser (died in 2015) had already left the band and had been replaced by Japanese bass player Tetsu Yamauchi. Yamauchi joining The Faces after the demise of Free, he had replaced Ronnie Lane in that band. Free vocalist Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke went on to form the hugely successful Bad Company (the band signed to Led Zeppelin's record label Swan Song) recruiting former King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell (died 2006) and former Mott The Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs. Rodgers even had a stint playing with Brian May and Roger Taylor as Queen & Paul Rodgers from 2004 to 2009 performing songs by Queen, Free and Bad Company. Anyway, may I suggest the song 'Mr Big' by Free - it has to be the version from the album 'Free Live'. It'll blow your socks off.

Also, they were hugely influential and Paul Rodgers, the singer, and Simon Kirke, the drummer, went on to form Bad Company. The guitarist, Paul Kossoff, who we lost back in 1976 aged 26, was very much a guitarists guitarist. Gibson even reissued copies of his 1959 Les Paul, which, if you can find one will cost well over $10k now. Andy Fraser, the bassist, went on to a solo and songwriting career. He wrote hits for Robert Palmer, Joe Cocker, Chaka Khan, Rod Stewart and Paul Young among others.

I am about to rewind the dear JayveeTV
    In all his handsome strength-and-beauty
Very true, all the vocalists and musicians of this number
Are what bring it through the ages with absolute thunder
Yes, the storytelling and 'good man-hair'
Only put this song eternally way up there.
Bass, keys, drums and lovely lead
All exert themselves on us indeed.

'Come Together In The Morning', 'Mr Big', 'Fire And Water', 'The Stealer', 'Wishing Well', 'My Brother Jake' and many, many more. All Right Now was written by Andy Fraser (bassist), with help from Paul Rodgers.

The singer is Paul Rodgers, who would later go on to front for Bad Company. One of the most distinctive voices in rock.

Paul Rogers is one of the very best rock singers in the biz. He was the lead singer of Bad Company and even briefly toured with the two remaining active members of Queen (Brian May and Roger Taylor ) in 2005-2006, as Queen+Paul Rogers.

The singer Paul Rodgers and the drummer Simon Kirke went on to form Bad Company and had huge hits like "Feel Like Makin' Love" and "Can't Get Enough". Rodgers has also sang and recorded with the post Freddie Mercury rock band Queen and the bassist Andy Fraser formed a band called Sharks. Lastly the lead guitarist Paul Kossoff sadly died in 1976 at just 25 years of age of a pulmonary embolism whilst in mid flight between LA and New York. The song "Alright Now" was Free's biggest hit by far and is one of the most air played songs of all time.

Paul Rodgers is a God......that voice ❤️. I was lucky enough to see Free live back in 1972, they were amazing even though they were pretty much off their heads that night. Despite that, Paul Rodgers still knocked it out of the park. Check out Wishing Well, My Brother Jake, A Little Bit Of Love.

Never thought of this as a one hit wonder. My husband introduced them to me when this album came out by playing the whole album several times in a row, each evening, after our after dinner smoke. Lol. Loved them then live it still at 69 y/o.

The reason the main riff sounds so familiar is because Steve Miller used almost the exact same riff in Rockin' Me, albeit in a different key.

4:42 “Good god” is right! Mr Paul Kossoff on Lead guitar. One of the greatest to ever do it. It really wasn’t fair how good this band was... They were all around the age of 20 when this was recorded(I think the bass player was 17 or 18).
