Lol classic baking mistake, mixing up the units
This is great so far and I do love this longer story from the Program Anthology, I hope we get some sort of reveal later that explains what might have happened here since it's still a bit unclear by the end what exactly happened to the kids. So good though!
1) Victoria residents hurt themselves in order to get extra credits
2) They were planning to poison themselves a little bit
3) professor instead killed all of them. Could be a mistake, could be on purpose, they were about to maim his son
4) survivors would have blue skin (due to poisoning) and scars (due to maiming)
5) Professor Mayor and Teacher were seen as the ones responsible for the poisoning
6) Their children were the ones that were missing
This leads me to think a survivor took the children as some kind of revenge. They did see a strange man that’s propably a Victoria survivor
7) Teacher and Mayor had their children returned. There are two possibilities as I see it. One explanation is that survivor realised that Professor is the one responsible and let others go. The other explanation is that the program somehow created clones of some sort and gave them to people that would not question that. Parents that didn’t really care that their children came different (without peanut allergy for example) received them back. Professor wouldn’t accept a replica of his child and so he didn’t get it.
Extra thoughts:
1) could the Victoria survivor living in the woods be the Teachers husband? I think someone would mention he looks strange if that were the case, it’s unlikely but possible
2) Maybe survivor didn’t kidnap children, only returned them. They did suggest that the farmer could have something to do with their disappearances. If they really are clones the program could just ask Victoria survivor to return the children it created.
Can some one explain why the algorithm went after the professors son? Was it as a punishment for him doing the poisoning? Because if thats thr case, thats not fair to the kid and isnt the algorithm meant to be just and fair?
