I was raised in Zimbabwe. I had the same reaction. Band-aids are the same color everywhere. It's a neutral, middle-ground tone. No one cares. Who's got the time and inclination to fuss over such things? People who have zero problems and no responsibility. We CANNOT give these people our time. We must ignore them.

Skin tone has nothing to do with bandaid color. It’s a color that shows blood but doesn’t get dirty as fast as a white would. Color wasn’t a consideration when making them. A black bandage wouldn’t show if blood started to saturate the bandage.

The reason she hates that they were right is because it was never about gender or pronouns. It was about being contrarian and ineffable and being able to talk down to people and have them seek your approval.

Exotic, unique, or esoteric might be better words. They want to be so individual that anything anyone assumes is automatically wrong because THEY ARE SPECIAL.
It is irony that each one of them wants to be called by the plural because they are too unique to be singular.

They don’t want you to know the correct pronoun, they want to be the one to tell you their pronoun. She hated that the person took away that power from her (even by buying into the bull crap in the first place). This isn’t about them feeling seen or included. This is about an enormous ego and power trip and if you take that away from them, you take away the only thing about them that makes them feel “special” or “unique.”

I'm a teacher, used tio work in kindergartens, now I work in primary schools. Kids who get a papercut or sth don't need black bandaids, they need the attention and 'it's going to be all right'. If the child isn't crying, I ask: 'Oh my God, have you survived that?', which makes them smile.
I sure hope sth is a real thing and not a typo for sti or std, but with schools these days who knows.

I'm just here to tell you that as a pasty white American of extremely Irish descent, I've yet to meet a Band-Aid that matches my skin tone. Even if I spend all summer trying (and failing) to tan, average Band-Aids are still several orders of magnitude darker in shade than I am. They usually just end up looking like a giant oblong freckle. I never noticed until SJWs started griping about how racist band-aids are for not being dark brown, much less was I bothered by it. Should I have been?

My dad is a look down the nose liberal, where I don’t believe he is into all of the policies but defends them with all of his honor….just so he can look down on others. But once on vacation he was bleeding and I had bandaids in my purse. When handing it to him, I apologized for the color of it and he replied that everyone deserved to be represented. I agreed with him, but told him that the bandaids were dark green, as part of an astronomy theme, and didn’t know any dark green people being represented..it felt great bc he was all too excited to put me in my bigot corner, when really he doesn’t see me as the accepting person as I am, but only for the bad things he thinks of me bc I didn’t live the same life as him.
