Thanks for the video Agnes. The video mostly touches on how to become an E-hailing driver than it does on how to start an E-hailing business. Not for lack of knowledge but you tried to squeeze everything in one video. Like the comments in the section suggests, you can split into different videos like platforms where people can get cars, steps to take to become a verified driver, driving tips when on the platform, comparison of the different E-hailing platforms etc.

Hi Agnes, thank you so much for your video. It’s very informative.
I just have a few questions because this is a business I’ve been interested in for a while:
    1. How much is insurance and which company do you use for cheaper e-hailing insurance? The ones I’ve seen are very expensive and makes the business unprofitable if you gonna get a new car and give it to a driver.
    2. When you buy the salvaged cars, how much do you roughly get them for and how much do the repairs normally cost?
    3. How much do you charge your drivers per week?
    Thank you for your time

      Hi Lydia
      Thanks for the comment.
      1. yes you have to be diligent when shopping for insurance. we used oaksurance when we started but we stopped using insurance. like I explained they might need third party cover when you are signing up, but you can cancel it once you are on the platform and use normal insurance.
Since we bought our cars cash, we are not required to have insurance... I know it is risky but this is the risk we decided to take. We keep an emergency fund of about R5000 for rainy days. If your car is financed then you are required to have insurance.
      2. We paid R37k for one of our cars and spent about 10k for repair. the pricing is based on the year model and the state of the car.
      3. our drivers cash in R1800 weekly. But when my husband works fulltime on busy days, he makes about R3000 per week.

Hi Agnes. Please make a video of places you can get cars to put on platform, for example, salvage car that needs to be fixed as you spoke about it on your video.
    I know we asking a lot😁, but I enjoy your content😂😂

    Hi sister
    1. With your experience, what's your take on car brands in relation to durability mostly looking at the used cars option? What are some of the brands you use?
    2. How can one get hold of you for more insight if possible? Thanks

Hi Agnes. Id like to ask. How many cars do you have on platform?
I think profit margins also veries on the number of cars you have.

We have 4 cars. Yes certainly, we making more money than we did when we had two cars. the other thing is also that we don't have car repayments since our cars are bought cash.

commission for Bolt is very high
In terms of safety for passengers and drivers
Also commission on Uber is reasonable

I've been in this business for about 4 months and I have been seeing the money coming in because I also bought my Uber x car cash. However, I'm thinking of quitting because I am concerned about anticipated rising maintenance costs and depreciation. For me to get my ROI for the upfront payment for the car would take at least 2 years. And after that the car will be very old. 1 year left on the Uber X platform, at this point service costs and reliability would be an issue that would eat into profits.
I'm not inclined to cancel my insurance.
Whats your approach to the end game? When you get your funds back and remain with a high mileage car and high service costs.
I gather that the key is to buy as cheap a car as possible.
