To manage the COVID-19 outbreak, the Philippines has enforced strict quarantines, forcing people to stay home, or risk getting fined or even jailed. But for the urban poor, staying home is not a safer option. Many of them live in slums, in cramped living spaces, with poor sewage facilities and little to no access to clean water.
At the height of the coronavirus outbreak in the Philippines, Cheryl Bandicantos spoke to one slum-dweller in Cebu about how she is surviving under the lockdown, and met a medical worker struggling to cope with a lack of supplies.

Its always good to view the country as wealthy, in many things, things that are admirable amongst countries as well be it of the strata's. But why feed the hungry when all they do is breed more of the same?
      Even Marco's wanted population control. Studies inside and outside of the Philippines say its;
      1. Overpopulation
      2. Foreign and domestic policy
      3. Lack of discipline (across the board)
      4. Corruption.
Your comment about politicians putting money in their own pocket is the go to scape goat for the poor and poverty in the Philippines.
Tell me how a Jeepney driver last month collecting ayuda said the 2K PHP (paid for by tax payers, borrowed money, VAT etc etc) was kulang (little) because he has 5 kids and a wife to feed that live in his Jeepney? How has corruption directly affected his life, his mothers life, his Lola's life and the Lola's mother life?
The cycle of breeding poverty with wlang pera and no common sense continues..
You know.. bahala na okay lang pwede na my life is in Gods hands attitude...

And then poor and poverty blame government for spending on the Build x3 initiative during the pandemic and the millions spent on the dolomite in Manila Bay... when it could be used to feed the hungry...
Hello, poor, poverty, squatters, roughly 30% of the entire population pays income tax... and when natural disasters hit, who pays to rebuild? Tax payers do.
May 2021. Average family size 4.5++
      Average age 25
May 2020 rise in unplanned pregnancies during lockdown
August 2019 government issues social Emergency on teen pregnancies.
Borrowing money from China Japan the French, ADB list goes on.....
Community pantries are endearing. But if they existed before the pandemic the lineups would be the same... truth.
Covid is not the problem, it exposed the problem of many mindsets of pinoys and their culture.... covid opened the wounds...

If you do not want to see poverty as it is, then go see the more prosperous side of the country- Makati City or the Global City. But if it is the scenic beaches you want to see, go see our tourist destinations. We have more than 7,000 islands to choose from.

Pregnancy should be treated as optional when it reaches 25 and a full responsibility rather than a green card to poverty, if comic book doesn't make you listen then use a condom/pill

They have a monthly support from the government! Free education, Healthcare and financial! Heck, these people doesn't helping themselves anyway!! And you've got a point about Capitalism or in our case Oligarchy. Here, there's a few oligarchs controlling our government and economy but that was before President Duterte came. Now, there's still a problem but, these people should help themselves also and stop making more babies. The government can't do more! We have a lot of problems, despite the challenges, they were the priorities! And I think that would be enough! I just don't know what they're doing with the money!

Haha it is because of our unitary system and overly restricted FDI. You should research more. We in the southern philippines supports federalism were wealth and power is equaly distributed not just in manila. And open foreign direct investment to give more jobs to filipinos nationwide. But the fckin crocodiles in the senate wete against it because they couldnt benefit anymore. The unitary presidental manila centric government is what making the provinces and cities outside manila getting left behind because we always rely on fckin manila. In federalism, it could give provinces/states a chance to govern their own state without relying always in manila, and the wealth will be equally distributed to the provinces. This current unitary system is the one producing these conditions in the video.

God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and *please repent.*
