- This is the fifth in our series of six videos following the story of re-pitching Peterborough Cathedral's 5286 -pipe organ. This intricate work is very nearly complete. In this episode the final rank of pipes is fitted and a new tuba mirabilis stop is added. To find out more visit www.peterborough-cathedral.org...

Everyone needs a tuba stop in their life - at school (Christ’s Hospital), the chapel organ had a monster tuba stop in the west organ in the gallery - excellent to wake kids up after a long sermon!
Wonderful. Here in New Jersey US, we have the Midmer - Losh organ in Whelan Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City. I'm sure its' Tuba Mirabilis ' are quite impressive as well.
I'm delighted with the addition of the sesquialtera. I have very happy memories of playing this wonderful organ for choral evensongs back in the 1980s, but I do remember missing a sesquialtera or something like it for the Bach chorale preludes I played before the services. Good job!
The final hymn is 'Lo, He Comes with Clouds Descending' - tune Helmsley
Truly a Mirabilis of a video diary - thank you so much for a fascinating insight into this repitching of the organ.
