    I'm SO GLAD you included Soul Sacrifice Delta on this list, but SO BUMMED you missed a couple of my favorites. Freedom Wars in particular. It is SUCH a great game, and really deserved a sequel. Another good dark puzzle game from Japan (Nippon Ichi to be exact) is A Rose in the Twilight. The story, while dark, is good. The gameplay gets SUPER dark, but it's fairly challenging and a lot of fun to figure out/play.

    Fatal Frame 2 was also remade for Wii, though sadly it was only released in Japan & Europe ( while Fatal Frame 4 never left Japan, making it the only entry to never get localized ). Really hope Nintendo does something with the IP soon too....
    also if you like strategy RPGS and in particular La Pucelle Tactics, the Disgaea games are more than worth your time & money. Disgaea D2, a direct sequel to the original Disgaea, is only on PS3 right now and is only $9.99 digitally; it also has a bunch of DLC characters for a few bucks a piece, each including a map you have to battle & defeat them on in order to unlock them for use. If the PSP version of Disgaea 2 and Vita version of Disgaea 3 are available I recommend those as well as they're the most complete versions thus far and they have yet to be ported to Steam, Switch or PS4 like the Disgaea 1 and 4 have.
    oh and awesome bit of irony that the final game mentioned is one I JUST bought over the weekend....along with tracking down a functioning Vita ( the one I currently have was bought off a friend for $50 & is busted af...neither of us thought to test it first ). I love the Tales Of series, so I HAD to get Hearts R & a Vita to play it on

    • @FromTheVoidGames

      Great suggestions and good to know that Fatal Frame 2 was also on the Wii. I will consider Disgaea D2, 2 and 3 for the reasons you mentioned. Thanks for your correction on The 3rd Birthday. You can also use the Vita Content Manager Assistance through the PS3 to connect the PS3 and Vita (I believe you can do it on WiFi, but by USB for sure).
    Once you do that, after downloading The 3rd Birthday to your PS3 so the bubble shows up under games, you can press start on the bubble and you'll have the option to transfer it to the PSP.
    That's actually how I did it originally, though it's interesting to see there is another option through the Vita store too. You may be able to access the Transaction History on the Vita too without accessing the store to get it that way, though I'd need to confirm that to be sure.

    I want to recommend two exclusive games for playstation platforms, the first is Dead Nation, an isometric game of zombie shooter in the line of the old Robotron, exclusive to ps3 that also has an expansion that follows after the main story, when this game came out. one of the aspects of fighting ordes of zombies and bosses was the cooperative aspect. the second game is Mallicious which has its expanded version for PS Vita, a great digital game too. I am surprised that I have seen several videos about the games to buy before the PS3 store closes and have not seen either of these two games mentioned. PS3 was the platform that has certain exclusives of the Namco Bandai's Tales of they have several HD versions of the Symphonia series that appeared on PS2 and Game Cube, also games that appeared for Wii and the exclusive games of Tales of Xillia 1 and 2, some of these games are easy to obtain in physical format but others are priced at not so high prices but difficult to find. The same situation occurs with the games of the Atelier series, although since the success of the last game in the series, they have released a compilation for PS4, Switch and PC.
      There are many games in digital only format that are not very good titles, for example I would not include games such as Amy or Hydrophobia since at the time they were neither well received nor do they have anything redeemable in terms of gameplay, which is the most important thing in my opinion. The characteristic of digital games in this generation of PS3 and XBOX 360, was that video game companies tried to make a diagnosis of the market and preferences to see if it was worth investing or not in old and new franchises, there is the case of Hard Corps of which a sequel was planned but due to the limited commercial success it was not achieved, in addition to that at the time it was severely criticized by the extra characters that could only be acquired by DLC, the same can be said of the Double Dragon Neon and Bloodrayne Betrayal games both developed by Wayforward and pub lished by Majesco . same happened at the time with the Vampire Resurrection or Darkstalkers Resurrection series that came out shortly after the release of Street Fighter 4, but that was not successful enough to justify the development of a new game, in physical format you can easily find the Japanese version, but the same is not the case with the western version.
      Moon Driver is a four-player Stryder Hiryu-style game, although I was never able to play it co-op at the time; A digital game that I have not found a physical version of although it may exist in Europe or Latin America is I am Alive by Ubisoft, a survival game where resources are scarce and encounters with enemies depend on a lot if you wait for the last moment to attack and that you only have a machete to defend yourself until you get ammunition for your weapons; Quantum Conundrum is a puzzle game similar to Portal where you must use mechanisms to alter the physical laws of matter to overcome obstacles, this game was also released for 360 and for PC, although I have not found a physical format. Rochard is a platform video game in which to move the objects - mainly boxes - that you need to reach other platforms you must use a weapon similar to the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2, it is something entertaining but nothing special.
      A game that was considered impressive at the time for its history and for its platform playability, which appeared first on 360 and PC, is Braid, I am not going to tell anything more about this game because I think it must be experienced to be appreciated.
      The games of the Resident Evil series like 4, Code Veronica although they came out for PS4 in physical format but I don't know if Code Veronica is only digital, the PS3 versions are only found in Japanese compilations of physical format, the same happens with the HD port from the Wii series called Resident Evil Umbrella and Chronicles, within the genre of shooting games that make use of PS Move although they can be played with the Dualshock 3.
      At the moment there are some games that you can review and consider if they are worth mentioning now that the closing of the PS3, PS Vita and PSP stores is approaching. Then maybe I sent you some names of fighting games for PS3, although some also came out later for PS4, but at the time they could only be played on the old Sony platform. Greetings .

    Even though it's Japanese only, I'll mention that one of the most expensive PS2 games, Haunting Ground (Demento on the JPN store) is available on the Japanese PSN store.
    It may be worth it to some to get that so you don't have to pay the hundreds the physical copy costs. The Rival Schools games, and Star Gladiator, are only available on the Japanese store as well.

    10:50 - I can PERSONALLY confirm that you cannot install or download Bonk's Adventure or Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen to the Vita even through the Content Manager via USB from the PS3. I assume Bonk using the NEC PC Engine system emulated is a problem, but both Legacy of Kain games won't allow downloads directly to the Vita now (they used to).
    I can also confirm that Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Castlevania Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid, and Silent Hill won't allow direct downloads either and MUST be transferred from the PS3 (using the "bubbled" install file, not the game already installed on the PS3 console). They show on your download list as "Cannot download using this system". So even if you own the game, they are locked from you without a PS3 as a middleman. Sony's whole organization needs an overhaul, which I guess is why the PS4 and PS5 stores work so much better since that seems like that's what they did.

For example in Romania they only ever had less than 20 titles from PS ONE and many could only be gotten on the website rather than the VITA store which now only has about 15 or so left (oddly including Silent Hill which is on your list of games unavailable in other regions on the Vita itself). I hooked up my PS3 and made sure I had MGS1 and FF7 on there which I had already purchased. I am still considering if I should pick up some more of these suggestions, but generally I try not to buy things before I am ready to play them. In this case we'll be losing access so I might have to break my usual rule. I've always wanted to play through Suikoden 1 2 and 3, but I've only played about half of each and never completed them.

      I would buy the Suikoden games now if you want them, it doesn't seem likely they'll be re-released any time soon. Suikoden II in paticular goes for $400+ now for a physical copy..

      @FromTheVoidGames  Před 3 lety

      Hey Alexander! Cool to see you back here :D. Dude, I agree with J M, get the Suikoden games and finish them, at least 2, the ending in this game is SO GOOD. Go for all the 108 characters by the way. Look up a guide cause some of them are kinda impossible to guess how to get.

    Considering the issue with the cmos battery or Sony possibly one day making it unable to redownload purchased games, Is it still a good idea to buy a ton of these games digitally before the store closes? I'd hate to buy all these games and them be unplayable one day because of these issues if the cmos battery issue doesn't get patched and the download server don't stay up indefinitely when I could have put that money towards physical copies.

    • @FromTheVoidGames
      @FromTheVoidGames  Před 3 lety

      Its a gamble, I agree. But there is no date or rumor as to when the servers will be shut down, so it must be a long while, Im guessing several years. And until then we can hope that Sony will do the right thing by releasing a final patch to fix this issue as you said. Otherwise we really should riot.

  • @RasLion
    @RasLion Před 3 lety +1

    Never go digital if you can avoid it, buying on the store is just a long term rent until your system breaks and the store is already closed.

    • @FromTheVoidGames
      @FromTheVoidGames  Před 3 lety

      I agree. Whenever possible I prefer getting any game physical, I really do not trust big companies to keep my games for me. They already lost some of my games that way. But some games are digital only and there is no way to avoid it. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
