I take the Viltrox 75mm F1.2 out again, this time to The Beaches area of Toronto with a new K&F black diffusion filter. Meike has a 85mm F1.4 on the way, and Sirui has it's 56mm F1.2 coming. Did I jump the gun buying the Viltrox?

background music is very bad and too loud, impossible to watch

Do you take pics without background blur? Would have been nice to see how it does at f8 or f11
Sure! Most people want to see what an F1.2 can do at the most challenging F1.2. F8 to F11 is where even the worst lenses can do quite decently, so there really isn't much to see or say (other than it's very good). Although I'd rather take a much lighter and wider alternative, it would even take great landscape photos. Like most lenses it remains the same or only gets better until f8-f11, and then things drop off due to refraction at the smallest apertures. Autofocus still has no problem with subject detection on my Sony at smaller apertures. Great photos.. How many stops of nd filter do you need for this lens wide open at 1.2 on daylight?
Hi! Thanks! I was using a 3 stop ND (ND 8), I was able to keep it at around 1/1600th most of the time.

Hi! Thanks for the kind words! I don't actually use any presets. I edit all the photos on an individual basis as I go.
Surai is a bit soft for photography, great value for video though.

Great vids and killer shots. You’ve probably seen this, but Arthur R here on CZcams had trouble with the eye auto focus in his Viltrox vs Sigma 56 review as well.

Christopher frost confirmed that viltrox af is slower and less confident than sony 85mm......
Hi. Yes, a native lens will almost always be faster focusing. The 85 is only a f1.8 as well, which actually helps focus quite a bit.

yes. very specific lens . 112 mm on FF ....
Similar to a FF 105 to 135 with an equivalent aperture. I was happily stunned by it. I have the Sony 70-350mm f4.5-6.3, another great lens, but to shoot at 75mm with the choice of f1.2 or f4.5, the difference is immediately apparent.

You aren’t going to get much in focus shooting wide open with this lens.
Yes, that's the idea of course! At distance it's not too bad, but once you get close enough the focus plane is razor thin. At too much of a distance, you'll also want to stop down a little.
