I'm so happy you finally picked up this game!! I have been playing and loving this game ever since I found it. Which was about around the time when it came out
i **FULLY** watched the video, and i think it was good

The random "egg appearance" is a bug that has been in the game for ages... and the devs don't care. Initially the eggs were placed, when you meet up with a ship that is infected by alien bugs. But due the bug, you just randomly get eggs hatching on your ships, without any eggs ever having been placed on your ship in the first place.
I've had games completely ruined by suddenly having half a dozen dogs hatch from an egg, eating all my food and then die.
Dev here and I definitely care. Egg appearance in the game is not a bug, but a random story event. They sometimes appear in dark corners of your ship and you can relocate them to incubation zones or dispose them in the nutrient extractor. You will need the alien egg shells later for research. There are also devices you can build that will help you find the eggs when they show up (Xenodetectors).

Datoid? Man it's been a while since I've played this, the last time I played all you needed for research was to have appropriate storage space and computing power.
Maybe it's no longer a dead end game.
@@lechking941 Maybe, that's pretty much why I stopped playing, after finding a colonizable planet, jumping to different galaxies and left with "how many resources do I need to put in for this just to make that, and.... nah I'm done, rebuilding the ship was cool, but the end game is just not worth it"
@@Mike__B ya it has more holes then the ship in the start. What they need is a little replayability. I don't remember what game but there was a game semi like it on gamepass for a time I loved to do on the odd. Were ya people was from brain dead barely. Human to fullon people. You had to work from that bottom bones to full sentiant being the main ai unit. Hm what was it. Maybe stardus. Or simulare
Edit it's Stardeus on steam 30% off as of typing of 29.99 game. So round 19ish rn. A decent deal.
