  • How to Revit model a concrete foundation wall with slab ledge and insulation.
Start with a regular wall and add sweeps and reveals to create a ledge and a band of insulation. Use a profile family of a generic rectangle to control the size and shape of the ledge and stem.
This video also shows how to model a thickened slab in Revit. All in under three minutes!

Yes, just a simple rectangle profile family I end up using for lots of different things.

How would you add a 18"x20" pier at the columns? My top of wall is at 0'-0" (GREEN) and the brick ledge at -0'-8" (RED). The concrete piers will also be at -0'-8" (RED)? I will paste a detail with the walls highlighted green and the brick ledge & piers red if it will let me paste it to this thread.

Could do it a bunch of ways. Maybe a generic architectural column. Or a spot footing connected to the bottom of the column. Or just some walls that look like a pier.
