I have check out several videos for Mesa Verde and I wanted to let you know you guys did an outstanding job! You are very informative and to the point. You discussed several things for folks with disabilities and other limitations that do not even impact you. Very insightful and helpful. Only one small thing, you mentioned several times that the time of year you visited was beneficial and explained the different reasons but never said when you actually visited. Your post says June, so I'm assuming that is when you went. I am trying to avoid the crowds but don't want to go when it is too cold. Thanks again!
Thanks for the comment. We did go early June and it was perfect! I would recommend this time of year for sure. Granted we haven’t been any other time of year, but our experience was great. In speaking with rangers and other visitors they made it sound like early June was a good time as well. Thank you for watching our video!
You two complement each other in this very beautiful description of this rare and ancient landscape. Wishing that I could be there, to see these extraordinary cliff dwellings. Greetings from Israel.
Thank you for the kind words! It truly is an amazing place that we are thankful we were able to visit. Thank you for watching our video.
Very helpful, thanks!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful. Thank you for watching our video!
Thank you for this! You said there were no tips for visiting Mesa Verde and I agree! Yours was the only one and super helpful. Didn't know there were 2 mesa areas-great tip because we only have one day there. Now I wish it was 2!
Glad it was helpful Kathy. It’s kind of hard to plan a trip when you have no idea what to expect. Two days would definitely be ideal but I think you will still have a blast. Have a great trip and thank you for checking out our video!

Just wanted to say thanks for making this video! We're planning a trip from las vegas to grand canyon, zion, bryce, four corners, gunnison, and pikes peak, flying back home out of denver. To think I was about drive right past Mesa Verde! I had seen so little about it, I assumed it wasn't worth going to, now it's towards the top of the must do list. Thanks again!

Awesome video. Thanks. I'm going camping there in June if we don't go to Florida.
It would be a blast camping there, But Florida sounds fun too. Either way have a great trip. Thanks for checking out our video.
Amazing video. You guys are good
Thank you. We appreciate you watching our video!
Thank for information, I sanan to visit Mesa verde,
Your welcome! Thank your for watching our video.
We did this many years ago, it was well worth it.
Agreed, it’s an amazing time! Thanks for watching our video.
Great video! I would only add one thing. If you want to get the most out of your day at Chapin Mesa, consider a twilight tour of Cliff Palace. These can be booked weeks ahead of time, too, so you don't have to hustle to get tix.
Wonderful, wonderful place. Too bad Spruce Tree House is now closed.
We would love to do the twilight tour, it looks amazing! Put that on our bucket list. Thanks for the comment and for checking out our video!
We're empty nesters now so hubs asked where i wanted to go. "Mesa Verde" no hesitation
Great plan. We would love to go back. Thanks for watching our video!
I went as a kid. Came back today 4.13.22 by myself. I made it half way up the first mountain and switchbacks and had to turn around. I couldn't do it. The road scared the crap out of me!!! Some wet parts of road and snow on the sides freaked me out. I wish I could have made it
Oh shoot that’s too bad. Those roads are no joke though.
Hi love the video and thank you for the tips. I wanted to ask what camera did you use for your Mesa Verde videos as the quality is really amazing? Many thanks Kinga
Thanks Kinga, I’m glad the video was helpful. We just used an IPhone with a DJI gimbal for stability. The gimbal makes a huge difference. Since then we have upgraded to a DJI Osmo pocket camera. It’s amazing. Our latest 2 videos were recorded with the pocket and I’m thrilled with it. Thanks for checking out our video!
Very helpful. We plan to go next May (what time of year did you go?), and we’re staying two nights at the Far View Lodge. Our plan is very similar to yours. Your video showed me Balcony House is a no-go. :(
We went early June and it was perfect. You will have a great time. Balcony house is amazing but you will still have a great time with all the other amazing sites. Glad the video was helpful! Thanks for watching our video!
Great video!! We’re planning to go this weekend. We have a toddler though, so we will probably only do one tour. Does the cliff palace tour require the ladders and climbing? Some of those tours look like they would be tough with a toddler on our back... looks amazing though and we can’t wait to see it!
Awesome you’ll have a great time. Cliff Palace is probably the easiest one and will be fine to do with the toddler. The initial decent down has some pretty narrow steep carved sandstones steps as well as the exit but everything in between is relatively flat and easy. Balcony house would be fairly difficult as well as longhouse tour with a toddler on the back. Have a good trip and thanks for checking out our video!
Sweet Life Adventures ok great info, thanks so much. We’re looking forward to it for sure. Enjoy your travels!
Is the drive to everything hard on your vehicle brakes?
It could be if you don’t use low gears on your vehicle. Just downshift and you’ll be fine. Thanks for watching our video!
Just went. It was fascinating! But sadly due to the virus problem, there were no guided tours.
That’s to bad the tours weren’t running. Now just an excuse to go back, haha. Thanks for watching our video!
Do we need to bring food, or do they have a restaurant?
There are a couple of restaurants in the park, but we just packed our own food. They have many awesome picnic areas.
What about the dogs? Can you take them to the trails?
Unfortunately no dogs allowed on the trails.
@@SweetLifeAdventures where they were while you were in the trails? I have two dogs and I have to take them with me in my trip so some advice is much appreciated, thank you!
We left our dogs at the cabin we rented and stayed at.
Where did you stay (sleep)?
We stayed at an awesome little cabin in Mancos through Airbnb. The cabin was in the Lost Canyon Ranch and Wilderness Resort. The host was very attentive to our needs and it was perfect for our family of 5 and two dogs. It only took about 20 minutes to get to Mesa Verde National Park. Thanks for watching our video! Here is a link to the cabin.

do you remember how many ladders you had to climb for Cliff Palace?
Shoot, I don’t recall for sure. There may have been a little one if even that. It was the most accessible dwelling of them all.
@@SweetLifeAdventures What about the hike to The Long House? Strenuous? What time of year were you there?
It’s a decent 2.5 mile hike into a canyon, and fairly steep. We went in June.
@@SweetLifeAdventures Last question. Which was more strenuous Cliff Palace or Long House?
Long house was more strenuous by far. Cliff Palace was the easiest one hands down!
