Up until she passed away ten years ago I used to take my mother thrifting every week. She managed to accumulate 500+ teapots, hundreds of snowmen items, rooster items, lighthouse replicas...whatever struck her fancy. I'm an only child so guess who inherited her hoard? Yeah, ME! I garage saled a bunch, gave away a ton, and rethrifted more. There's still a few totes in my garage. After she died, I developed severe arthritis so can't go thrifting anymore. I get my fix vicariously through you these days. Thanks for being feet on the ground for we homebound seniors! You rock, girl!!
I have a huge collection of birds - my dad’s. guess where they are going in the future? Yep...CLL!
Not that you asked, but I've been going for shockwave therapy for my arthritis. It may sound terrible, but it can be adjusted to your tolerance. It helped me and I know chronic pain really is awful, so just something to look into as a possible option. 😊
I had a similar experience at my local GW... A grandfather was introducing his teenage granddaughter to the cheap prices at GW and she was SOOOO animated and excited and you could tell he was delighted. It was so sweet and made my day too!
I always to took my kids to the thrifts since babies, i always wanted them to know how to make money and they have even found a few pieces over the years to buy and resell with their allowance money
You have become my daily morning routine. Recliner, cup of coffee, 50 pound dog on my lap and crazy lamp lady. Thank you and I have learned a great deal about what you do.❤
You took the words right out of my mouth.. except i have two dogs that equal 50 lbs. Have a great weekend.
Yes.. Nightime in bed,, I'll fall asleep watching these vids with my glasses on and laptop on my chest. You really are on to something here, besides just the flipping for profit.. Its the wonderful stress release of shopping without having to leave the house. When i am shopping i hear your voice..lol
I wish these videos were an hour long - every time I’m done watching one, I get so excited for a new one to come out the next day!
In case you dont hear it enough, THANK YOU! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, putting out daily content and being an inspiration. You've taught me so much and I just started my own booth. You are appreciated 🥰
Yes! Because of Jocelyn I have 13 totes full of inventory lol!
I would like to see a video of Walter and how he packs and ships all the lovely breakables. Thanks.
The odd looking teapot is called a "tea for one". The cup is on the bottom.
Now when I shop and I talk to myself and use words like Fitz and Floyd or Marano, other shoppers within earshot, must be impressed! 😎💕
corinne stevens I do that too, but I figure they think I’m crazy,
I do the same thing! Hobbyist piece, Italian pottery 😂
I'm the lady that gets excited about everything at my local goodwill. Lol
👏😂
Me too👍🏻😂
Yep! Everything has potential!
Bag of little angels were from one of the Pueblo’s of New Mexico.
The shade for that lamp has three lamps down it’s just the glass shade that goes on top of it matches the same flower decorations on the on the lamp
I thought I saw that, too!
The dolls are Greek. Traditional costumes. Souvenir pieces .
OPA!!
I bought a couple bags of those before and they sell everytime
@@hudsonvie OPA
I'm the Lazy Lamp Lady...laying in bed every morning watching your daily videos 💘. Really im a big thrifter, I go by "Thrifty Diva", but I keep my treasures.
Thats funny!
W. Kimble is a very famous folk art artist from Vermont. His paintings have been made into tons of different merchandise such as that bowl. I love watching your videos!
My heart broke over the strawberry 🍓 cookware I’m dying for a set. 🥲
It's Pat...Saturday Night Live.😁
Those girl dolls in the bag look like the old Texico dolls that you got cheap when you filed your gas tank in the late 60's easily 70's, my dad used to buy them for me.
Aww what a sweet memory😊
Oh I love the heart. I've found a few with the pieces of glass like that!
The set of plates you picked up towards the end, with the bird marking on the bottom, are from Anthropologie. Some of the Anthropologie brands can sell for OK money. Usually nothing to make a million though 🤠
Always learn something new when I watch your video I didn't know those were short bread molds !! Fabulous Finds !!! 💗
Jocelyn, I really enjoy your video’s. Thank you so much for taking us along.❤️
Good afternoon all 😊 got my cuppa and I'm sitting comfy. Woohoo shopping! I miss shopping lol thank you for all your shopping trips! Much love from a sunny UK xx
I swear..my next vacation will be to rent a U hall drive to where you live... camp out in the parking lots of these thrift stores...load up the U hall with goods for a month..come home fill the garage..and then post and sell all winter..Sounds like a fun and good idea to me!! You find more in one day then I could find at my thrift stores here in a year!!
Because I watch all your videos, I am learning so much. But I find myself talking to myself sometimes while shopping! 😂
I had that strawberry cook wear in the 80’s
Hi J, Don’t beat yourself up about items you wished you had bought. It happens to all of us. I always learn from you. Thank you
I would have passed on the W Kimble bowl too. It looked like a Chinese reproduction from one of Warren Kimble's American Folk Art Paintings.
You seem to have so many wonderful comments today Joce, I don't know that I can add very much?! You found some very nice items, and I too would have had trouble passing up that tiger cat porcelain box. Even with its gold Made in China sticker. It was interesting and unique and hopefully it will sell well for you. I love it when folks get excited about things they find, and have laughed many a time along with you and Dagny when you are delighted with a particular item that you have found. Some days shopping is a slog but others it is a true delight. Take care of yourself, don't get too run down, and I'm sure it will be you giving us squeals of delight when next you find a super treasure! Have a God blessed day and may you and your family be always happy and healthy.
The “toothbrush holder”, with the butterfly on front, is a Better Homes and Gardens wax warmer that is missing the plug that attaches to the bottom. I have the bigger one, that is corded, that matches this!
That weird teapot was a teapot for one cup, with the cup on the bottom and the pot stacked on top of it. LOVE those Fenton ashtray/trinket dishes. Colors are gorgeous! Also love that pottery heart with the rough outside and the art glass inside on bottom by Hawks (?) Great shopping with you, Jocelyn 😁🌟🌼🐈
Happy people are contagious. In a good way!
I use bed risers to elevate my craft and fabric cutting tables.
Don't worry about single plates. Some use them for a plate wall. super cute. LOVE the tiger lion box. I think you will make money on it. very special and different. have a good weekend!
Oh please, please, please go back and get that Rose gone with the wind bottom only lamp. It can still be used and globes added with something else. I would love to bid on that! Thanks!
Teapot had cup on the bottom for one person tea
The modern dishes you turned over are an Anthropologie brand (The black bird mark). Some of the patterns sell well!
The strawberry cookware...my husband and I received parts of that set for a wedding gift in May 1987. Which may help you date it better for a future time.
It collected it for my first kitchen in the mid/late 80s. It came from from the grocery chain Albertsons or Alpha Beta (Southern CA). Memories! 🍓
Just recently started watching ur videos and I love. I've been none stop watching and learned quit a bit. The the butterfly thing u said could be a toothbrush holder is actually a wax warmer. The plug and light bulb part was missing so it was useless. Lol I have the same one . Came from Walmart.. lol
Oh that lamp! I am just dying over that one!
Jocelyn!!!! You did it! You solved the missing lid conspiracy.... if they are not taped down, they fall off and break.
Some Pier 1 pieces sell for quite a bit, especially if discontinued. Also, with Pier 1 stores going out of business all over the country some people don't have one close to them anymore. It pays to check on some contemporary (or, as you say, modern) pieces.
I think Pier 1 pieces are going to be a future collectible. 😉
The Fenton glass is so beautiful!
Pier 1 always sells real well for me (20-25$ a mug/plate/trinket dish/etc)
Something about cllady ...today I watched one and was blown away with the amount of glass pottery and oddities... Loved it! She's the best utuber ever!
That “Happy Everything”plate sells for good money! They had the box and everything.
02:18 Looking at the fella's getup (check the pom-poms on his shoes!), I'm kinda wondering about Greece.
03:55 I mean, it looks like it's sitting on top of its own dedicated tea mug.
06:40 This cookware and dinnerware line is made by Sheffield, and the pattern is called Strawberries 'n Cream. It's very 1980s. (And the soup kettle is missing its high-domed lid.)
14:15 I'm pretty sure that's a Bradley & Hubbard kero font lamp that's been converted to electricity. I also have a strong suspicion that somebody knocked off the upper globe and broke it, which is why the remainder of the lamp now lives at Goodwill.
The W Kimball is Warren Kimball he was popular in the 1990s for his primitive folk art style. He does have some resell value. Not sure about 1 bowl though. I have sold quite a bit of his stuff. People like it
Yes please keep Walter comfortable. That boy does a better job packing then anyone else on eBay.
These are the cleanest shelves ive ever seen. I live in Chicagoland and every store is kind of a dump and dirty.. lol
I love your videos so much. I learn something new everytime I watch you. Stay safe out there. Have a good one!!
I look forward to your video every day. Thank you so much.
We had that strawberry cookware. I think it was fairly popular at one time...
Yep! That's as empty as my Goodwill stores look all. the. time. 🙄
That hand-printed bowl looked really cool to me.
I love the excited shoppers! Occasionally they can make me excited, too. Fun pieces and I appreciate the screen shots of the comps, makes such a good learning tool.
Piece of pottery with glass similar to the item at 7:21 are common in the gift stores in the Western US.
Loved the Milk Glass lamp 💕 So Adorable!!
I love all of your adventures!! Thanks so much for sharing them.
Oh wow. Lol. I received that strawberry cookware set when I got married. In 1979!! Amazing it’s still even alive.
Such a cute frog, next to the salad dressing
I love LOVE this!! Cuz I haven't been thrifting in MONTHS! AND what I really need to do is "reverse thrifting", take a full 6 big boxes of stuff from MY house to Goodwill!! I can take the edge off right here, and I sooo appreciate it!!
Misty found a cat bottle like the the ones you found but golden glass color.
Pottery personal teapot has a cup on the bottom.
The flower frog or toothpick holder was neither it is a wax melt cover thing that goes directly into an outlet. The plug part and bulb is missing.
Love watching you shop good wills carolyn from del rio texas 2023
OMG, on a recent trip to Goodwill I saw 2 donuts individually boxed for sale!
That's so funny! Noah is all about the video games but Rachel is the artist and collector of all things animals and gets all the take from my thrifting!
I love when there are figurines
Those Angel figurines would have done well. They do well in the SW.
The pinecone mug.. I'm guessing GMC is Green Mountain Coffee...
“She made everything exciting at the Goodwill”. Love it!!!!
OMG, at about 11:16, I had a set of those dishes when I was young! The dinner plates w/ the green band and flowers around the edge. Cheap, but served their purpose for years !!
Hi Jocelyn! I was at Saver's this AM and found this gorgeous Mexican pottery piece and thought of you...it was $9.99 with a large chip. YIKES! I also saw this sweet little detailed wooden turtle you would love!
That story about the enthusiastic woman was adorable.... ❤
The tea pot that you thought different ...it is ..my friend had one similar and it was tea pot and bottom a cup. Hers came from England
Bombay Co. Has alot of high end items. Really nice. I've picked up a few items I've found.
Pier 1 may be a good purchase in the future as they are now out of business. And anything from Anthropolgogie usually do quite well for me.
As soon as I saw that Friends DVD I started hearing the theme in my head 🎶"So no one told you life was going to be this way, clap clap clap clap, your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's DOA..."🎶
I used to work folding military clothes for soldiers and we used pvc cut pipe to attach to the legs of our tables.. normally 6 ft plastic fold out tables. Not sure ,but it could help if you have the same type table. Either way hope the risers help.
I just have to ask, what brand of foundation do you use? You have beautiful skin!
Had those same cat and dog bottles in the 60s
I’m missing my thrifting trips as we are closed where I live. Living vicariously through your videos!
The little tepot at 4.03 has the tecup under the pot😉
14:22 Is that not the shade to that globe lamp right there in white with flowers on the left of the screen? I can't see the bottom of it as I have the subtitles on.
I wondered about that too, either way I would have snapped the lamp up. I'm just silly that way.
@@cherylmilner7460 me too lol
I just found your channel today and I’ve been binging your videos. You have the most soothing voice. I feel like these videos can double as ASMR. Also love your thrift finds!
That brown tea jug had the cup on the bottom tea jug than lid
Did you notice that there was what looked like a rose painted glass shade sitting on the shelf? It might have gone with the vintage rose lamp. Still loving your videos and your voice-over narrations!
Warren Kimble lives in Vt!! He’s known for his folk art painting on wood. Thank you for your videos, I enjoy them so much!! I’m relearning a lot about glass from you, can’t wait to hit the thrift stores again just to see what I find!
Great finds!! It’s so sweet how u always think of your kiddos if you find something they will like😊
I think that cup looking piece with the holes in the top is for parmesan cheese.
That odd teapot, the bottom part is the cup.
I bought two of those for Christmas gifts.
Bed risers are a simple way to raise up a table.
And that's one of the mysterious things that happens to the"missing lids"
Just like Tupperware lids and socks!
I think the pair of dolls were depicting Greece. Warren Kimble is a famous folk art artist. Lots of products have his work on it, like calendars etc. love going shopping with you. But I am in the stage of life where I am getting rid of things, so I do not need anymore stuff. But I love seeing the wide variety of items out there in the world of thrift store shopping.
That little teapot ... did you notice it had a cup under it? Cute set
OMG, my Mom had that strawberry cook set when I was little!
The large oval embroidery hoop on the lower shelf at 2:33. Are they easy and cheap to come by in the US? I'd have to pay hens teeth for it here in Norway.
You’re videos are full of knowledge I learned so much from you. I go thrifting once a week to look for my treasure but now I can’t due to lockdowns. Thanks for sharing !
Didn't it look like the globe to the lamp you liked was beside it?
Warning pottery with glass in the bottom like that is not food safe.
On a given day it's either all about the animals or dolls, and I'm here for it all 👍💕😘
