Lin Manuel Miranda is a good example for kids in middle and high school to stop trying to be someone else, and just participate and engage in even what they think are nerdy activities. I’m probably not a theatre geek, but as an adult looking back, I could have participated more if I wasn’t so worried about fitting in.

Lin is literally a ray of sunshine. Like his energy is contagious and Andrew was so on point when he described Lin as "7-year old best friend who happens to write hamilton, and who never got traumatized as a child" cause he is that incredible creativity, confidence, and just radiates joy!

I’ve decided to give the Oscars one last chance. If Lin doesn’t win, I’m never watching again. No one is worthier. And it truly is the best song out of the ones nominated. And I don’t drink, but I’ll take a shot when he wins and becomes a PEGOT.
Unfortunately Lin didn't submit We Don't Talk About Bruno. I hope Dos Oruguitas wins though. He said he had to submit it in November, before the movie came out and he didn't know We Don't Talk About Bruno would be a big hit.

The first Broadway musical I ever watched was Hamilton when it first came out on Disney+ and I was blown away. So I can thank Lin-Manual Miranda for my obsession with broadway musicals and I still follow Lin’s journey and watch musicals that he has written music for.

I don't think Encantix works for when your kids make you go right from the Encanto soundtrack on the family road trip to the In the Heights Soundtrack, and then the Tick Tick Boom soundtrack and then back to Hamilton. But in reality, I wouldn't want it to.

The weekend after Bruno hit No. 1, I was listening to either American Routes or my local jazz station. I heard a song in C minor with a very similar beat to Bruno, and I hooked onto a point where I figured the piece would do the harmonic progression underpinning the refrain. I actually started singing, “We don’t talk about Bruno, no, no, no.” It was remarkable not because I had it in my head, but that I was harmonically spot-on with a piece that, if I had heard more of it, was probably only coincidentally similar.
