Anybody noticed how much easier is for James to sing on lower tunning. That for once is something they gotta follow on the next album Jame's vocals will definetely sound better.

@kirk221 I love the voice of James in the 89-99 but I also like a lot his new clean voice and I don´t think that Kirk plays worst now, only he use a lot of Wah but he it´s very good.

I also believe that Hetfield, like any musician, has written this next batch of songs to accommodate his aging voice and loss of range. I mean the only reason why he gets shit is because the bulk of the material that made the band what it is today was written by Hetfield when he was in his 20s with a much younger and more raw voice - and the crowd still wants to hear that, so it's only natural that it's going to sound...well, not as good.
But I bet he could still sing "Mama Said" great.
I don't think he has lost much range, he's hitting high notes he never used to hit in his 20s on Battery and No remorse for example.

I disagree. Alcohol may definitely diminish the voice but age is the main contributor first and foremost.
I've never heard of anybody's voice getting exceptionally better if he or she is drunk vs. sober.
Drinking has very much to do with it... I think this is the main point...

James voice is better than the times of 2002-2007, but kirks guitar play is getting worse, to heavy distortion and the waah waah is horrible not on this song but the solos on hit the light´s or motorbreath when you look videos from 2008 tour the solos incredible bad.:( :( :( and will not be better.....
