Those criticising the deal seem to have a problem with India partnering with Guyana. The Guyanese government has to make the decision whether or not these planes suit their needs and budget. If some of the commenters here are aeronautical and/or economic experts, they should write to the Guyanese technical team who okayed the deal, not troll either nation.

This is what destroys a country. What can Guyana, or any country, do with 2 aircrafts, most probably, they are refurbished outdated planes. Do they thing they can frighten off the Venezuelan jets . Venezuela has had jet fighters since the 1950s Now they have Chinese jets and the Guyanese do not read Chinese. The Venezuelan Air Force is outdated and ineffective, but they could wipe out Guyana's 2 jets. So, what do they expect to do with 2 planes that after a few years would be unserviceable.. No matter how sweet they talk, they are still inept and corrupt and would bring down the country.

As far as I know, HAL has made good planes like Tejas. Yes it is now specifically made in India except the engine which HAL will make by 2027. It is also focus on making AMCA, MRFA, Tejas MKI, MKII. Made Prachand LWH which is inducted in India. Made Dhruv Helicopter which is also used by Israel btw. We all know how famous is HAL. Not something like your country can make XD
