I am nearly 90. My grandmother opened a cake shop zillons of years ago and had the best cakes ever. I think it was because it was all done by hand. No gadgets.
She told me scones needed such a light touch. These days they are stored , machine mixed etc and she would be turning over in her grave. As a tiny child I was lucky enough to stay with her often. I still remember the wonderful food she cooked. How lucky I was

@@cyn2480 Fantastic! A road to a new life. Our culture is very involved with drinking and it can so easily develop into a bad habit and worse, a coping mechanism. It can be out of our control before we know it, then IT is controlling us! Stay with it, trust me it's worth it and so are you. They key in the beginning is don't pick up that first drink. We have a saying, "One is too many and a thousand is never enough"

Last year it was language courses, time management courses, fitness coaching, next year, how knows? Influencers are used world wide because the are cheap, take everyone's money and have no moral bounderies.

I actually wanted and needed something that would be calming and genuinely soothing to myself. And although perhaps not intended to be that way, your videos always end up having that effect on me. I love that. So it's your natural self, Nicolas, that's actually very therapeutic. And that is an amazing thing to be able to share with your friends, family, etc. without having to be any more than you already are. That's a beautiful thing!

I had to laugh at your slanted cake, that's what happens to mine,back when I was new to baking. I can help to fix that, when your cake is completely cooled , cover it and put in refrigerator. Make frosting, and after about 2 hours in fridge take out and frost the cake but just put a thin layer on the top and sides. Put back in fridge for 1 hour. Take out and finish your cake with another thick coat of frosting. If your house is warm just pop it back in fridge, take out 2 hours before your going to serve it.
Or you can put long wooden thin skewers in the top of your cake before frosting, take them out before serving and patch the little holes
So now you don't have the leaning Tower of Pisa. Have a great year.
You should never have a hangover from enjoying a alcoholic beverage, don't over drink and just have one glass. It's called moderation.... I find you will never feel bad the next day! Have a wonderful and healthy year

@@mdelongThey used the term sobriety. You can be sober without having ever had a drink or any addiction to alcohol. It is just the state of not being affected by alcohol; not drunk.

Here in the US you can actually buy boxed cake mix that already has sprinkles in it that you bake and then canned frosting with sprinkles already in it and of course you can buy containers of sprinkles to add to the cake if you like. Betty Crocker has this cake mix and that is what my friend made me for my birthday with the sprinkles. I called it my Barbie Birthday cake, even though not into Barbie at 74 years old.

Another way to make a real fun fetti cake is by adding sprinkles into the cake batter and adding sprinkles on top of the icing as well 😊

Every spatula, spoon, etc. was in use as we gathered round to taste test it all. And the scents were as you described! Say what do you do for Sophie's Birthday?

I used to drink when I was university age then gave it up aged as I genuinely don't like the taste. I always felt a social pressure to have a drink but decided to choose non alcoholic alternatives. Now I'm always the life of the party as I don't get moody and tired :) It's been 2 years with only having a glass of Baileys at Christmas and I don't think I'll go back. As a birthday treat from us, I think you should create a spa evening for yourself and think positively upon all your successes in the last year! My suggestions would be a candlelit dinner, luxurious bath, your favourite facial masks and glass of non-alcoholic bubbly xxx
