  • When your plan A goes down the drain, its always nice to have a Plan B in your back pocket! Luckily for us, we had our St Croix musky rods and our RS net Musky Mag with to help us chase down some of the largest fish that swim in freshwater!

I know from the mud plume youre definitely downstream of the forks. Chocolate milk flow. I fish those times up near the papermill.

Great video. I ran into this same dilemma last week here at home when we went from spectacular steelhead and walleye fishing for the first two days, to almost impossible conditions the next because of heavy rain here in Michigan. The Pier Marquette doesn’t have the same volume to allow for great sturgeon fishing, so we switched tactics and fished suckers and it was a blast.
Side note- this channel is great. I LOVE fishing Lake Superior. It’s the most beautiful body of water on earth and it’s also one of the most mysterious ones; It’s cold and ridiculously deep and it can be tough to figure out. Awesome to see someone go out and crush it, and show how they do it.

Dude I could really teach you boys a couple things about Rainy River Sturgeon and not only depth but also baits and rigs it's not so simple and boring if you want to take some initiative to hunt them down with your side scan and liveveiw which is a huge game changer in the sturgeon game I've seen that fishery blossom from when I was a kid and 60" fish were few and far between to now Beeing able to break 60" on 3 trips in a row the state fisheries have done an excellent job!

There is a 1 sturgeon a year limit in Minnesota with a 5" slot limit between 45" -50" most people smoke them but I have had them grilled like a steak and it was excellent as well!! But I refrain from slaughtering another one of these Minnesota/Canadian treasures I love the pursuit too much to end it with an unnecessary death... But I don't hate on anyone that chooses different....

@@calebbabcock8863 , The more I thought about it the less I would want to keep one. There is an unusual beauty to the species that makes a cheeseburger seem better.
