Japanese macaques at Ryotan-ji Temple in Hikone, Shiga prefecture in 2019. The Ryotan-ji Temple is perhaps best renowned for its beautiful Japanese garden and its large collection of 'daruma' dolls. The temple may be reached on foot from Hikone JR Station in 15-20 minutes.
